Game 6 Pick – LeBron Will Rise or Cleveland Will Fall

June 1, 2009

In the midst of LeBron’s epic triple-double to help the Cavs survive another day, is the lost (and obvious) truth about Game 5. While LeBron’s 37-14-12 stat line was impressive, what was even more inspiring was Orlando dispatching of a 22-point deficit heading in to the fourth quarter. That tells you, as a betting man, all you need to know about this series: it’s over on Saturday.

Cleveland played the way they absolutely need to in Game 5 to push the series to 3-2 SU. Mo Williams chipped in another 24 points, while Daniel Gibson added 11 points off the bench. That does not wholly convince me they can carry that resolve in to game 6 in Orlando. The Magic have shown too much strength in this series as a team, and Cleveland has been insanely dependant on LeBron.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic
Saturday, May 30th — Amway Arena, Orlando — 8:30pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Orlando -2 (192.5)

Orlando doesn’t have one go-to guys. They have four! Between Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, Dwight Howard and Rafer Alston, they undeniably have a better advantage, especially playing at home where they have been stiff against the betting line. LeBron will have his chances, but when a team as a unit is peaking, then you can’t stop them. Kobe is seeing it against Denver. And LeBron is seeing it against the stunning Orlando Magic.

NBA Betting Line: Orlando -2 (OVER)
