Game 4 Tonight – Lakers vs Celtics Betting Picks

June 10, 2010

Paul Pierce made a guarantee that this series wasn’t going back to Los Angeles but he continues to play without any urgency, his prediction will come true but only because the Los Angeles Lakers will sweep all three games in Boston and win the NBA finals in five games.

Regardless of what happens in these next two games, the Lakers assured themselves another game on the Staples Center if they need it but with the Celtics having trouble showing up for games the Lakers may not need it.

In Game 3, it was the Celtics turn to deal with foul trouble but as much as Doc Rivers would like, Boston can’t blame the referees for this loss. They can point to Paul Pierce’s inability to get past Ron Artest and only shooting 36% for the series or you can point to Ray Allen who went 0-13 in game three after setting an NBA record for three-point shooting the game before.

The most likely reason the Celtics can blame the inability of the “Big 3” to have a big game together.

Kevin Garnett had been invisible in game one and two of the series, while Allen was huge in game two but the goat in game three and Pierce has been mediocre in all three games.

If the Celtics want to come back and win this series, they need Pierce, KG and Allen to play all complete games because as we’ve see one won’t get it done against the Lakers.

The Lakers on the other hand have shown up for the most part. Lamar Odom hasn’t been his best, averaging less than 7 points a game and five rebounds a game but we saw late in game three, he only needs to be on for a moment to make a difference.

Lamar Odom hit two buckets in the final quarter; both times the Celtics were within one basket.

Tonight look for the Celtics to put together an early run; it’s hard to believe they won’t show up for the start of game four at home.

Of course, I don’t see them winning game four unless they get all three of the Big 3 to play a complete game and with Artest’s defense and Gasol and Bynum on Garnett, I don’t see it happening.

As in game 3 the Lakers are getting points but unlike game 3 I suggest you take the Lakers plus the points as the Celtics will probably lose but could sneak out last shot win. Be safe take the Lakers and the Points.
