Furious Week 14 NFL If-Bet – Start With Jacksonville -4.0 Over Oakland

December 11, 2010

Ok so I was way off last weekend with my NFL if-bet. Do I have regrets? Not really. My favorite part about an if-bet is that it doesn’t necessarily kill your bankroll. After all, what’s the worry when you’re spreading one risk on five games? I’m back with a vengeance for another set of games I’m confident will roll through.

By Week 14, we have a better sense of the league and holy crap has it come late in the season. There are teams we can rightfully trust, and other teams that have fallen so far out of the playoff picture that they’ve practically given up. Pad your weekend NFL betting by using the following set and watch that single wager roll through!

Furious NFL If-Bet Week 14

Bet A – Jacksonville -4.0 over Oakland
Bet B – New England -3.0 over Chicago
Bet C – Tampa Bay -1.5 over Washington
Bet D – Baltimore -3.0 over Houston (Monday Night Football)
Bet E – St. Louis Rams +8.5 over New Orleans

Explaining the Furious NFL If-Bet Week 14

Bet A – You know how we always say that west coast teams playing on the east coast in an early game have a decisive disadvantage? Well this is that game. Kick off your NFL if-bet with a solid pick as the public falls asleep on Jacksonville yet again and Oakland struggles on the other side of the country.

Bet B – It’s obvious that people are scared of Chicago, but I’m not. This is a typical “brains over brawns” call, which isn’t meant to say that the Bears are a bad team. They’re actually quite good, and much better than I expected. But give me Belichik’s defense over a quarterback like Jay Cutler any day of my life.

Bet C –Tampa Bay has still not convinced the betting public that they’re a playoff worthy team, especially since it’s been such a quick turnaround for the Young Bucs. However, can you really rely on Washington? Seriously? Don’t screw your NFL if-bet because you have a hunch that the Redskins can get their act together.

Bet D – Probably the easiest line of the week. Baltimore gets a little extra time to figure out why they’re keeping teams close in games. Here’s a hint – they don’t take any risks offensively. They’ll get to practice on the worst defense in terms of NFL betting. And no I don’t think Houston is reliable enough for a backdoor cover.

Bet E – This could easily be exchanged for Bengals +9.5 over the Steelers at Heinz Field, but I’m relying on the best cover team in football instead. St. Louis is 9-3 ATS this season and while New Orleans is a very good team, with a rushing game returning to full force this week, St. Louis has been deadly so put them on the tail end of your NFL if-bet.
