Free Picks NCAA Football – Hawaii vs. Fresno State
October 9, 2010
The Hawaii Warriors barely hold the edge over Fresno State as a free pick in their NCAA football history, and the tide may change even more so if the Bulldogs are as good as their record indicates. Making this game even more difficult to grade for Hawaii’s favor is the fact that they’re on the road, and we all know these surf boys don’t travel well.
Hell, I wouldn’t either if I had to fly across the Pacific Ocean for every away game.

Hawaii is just 2-5 SU in their last 7 road games and are 2-4 ATS in their past 6 games overall against the Fresno State Bulldogs, making it hard for any handicapper to choose them as a free pick in NCAA football betting.
It shouldn’t surprise that many people that quarterback Bryant Moniz, a native of Hawaii, has thrown for 1,869 yards this season and 15 touchdowns. He’s only been offset by 3 interceptions, but his numbers are slightly misleading. He’s also recorded 198 attempts this season which is the third most of any quarterback in the country.
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (3-2) vs. Fresno State Bulldogs (3-1)
Saturday, October 9th — Bulldog Stadium — 10:00pm EST
NCAA Football Line: Fresno State -10.5 (63.5)
Hawaii may boast the most productive passing attack in the league with 430.8 yards of offense, but that doesn’t mean they’re a good bet against Fresno State. The Bulldogs give up just 124.0 yards against through the air, largely because they’re horrific in rush defense (212.0 yards against).
Fortunately for the Bulldogs, Hawaii often forgets that they even have the option of running the football. They’ve totaled 98 attempts on the ground this year, but have averaged 3.6 yards per carry in the process. In short, Hawaii doesn’t have enough punch in their rushing game to give Fresno State any issues. Nobody should be making them their free pick this weekend in NCAA football.
Fresno State is by no means a great team, but they’re very strong at home. With a 5-1 SU record in 6 home stands recently, and a vastly improved home passing defense they can definitely withstand any kind of onslaught the Warriors try to produce. Free picks in NCAA football aren’t usually this easy, but whenever Hawaii is on the road, they definitely are.
