UConn will begin a brutal schedule as they try to finish out the season facing six possible NCAA Tournament teams in their final six regular season games, starting with the Hoyas who are winners of their last eight straight.

However, the Huskies are strong performers at home where they are 12-2, 7-5 in Big East play, and 3-4 against teams ranked in the top 25. Offensively they are averaging 74.1 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting from the floor while hauling in 40.9 offensive rebounds per game.

Kemba Walker, second in the conference in scoring, seems to have ended his recent slump and leads the team averaging 22.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.

The junior guard seemed to find his touch against the Friars, finishing with 22 points for his 16th 20-point game of the season Alex Oriahki and Jeremy Lamb round out the teams double digit scorers with 10.2 points and 10.1 points respectively.

Defensively UConn allows 65.4 points per game as their opposition shoots 39 percent but they rank just 260th in defensive rebounding.

Meanwhile, Georgetown got quite a scare when a Marquette player landed on leading scorer Austin Freeman’s ankle during Sunday’s matinee win over the Golden Eagles. Freeman finished the game with 17 points, eight after the incident, and is expected to play on Wednesday against UConn.

It’s a good thing too, as the Hoyas will need their star player during their sprint to the finish line of the regular season holding on to third place in the Big East with a 9-4 conference record. They are 6-3 on the road and 5-4 against teams ranked in the top 25.

Offensively G’Town is averaging 74.6 points per game as they shoot a scorching 50 percent from the floor while snatching 34.3 offensive rebounds per game. Freeman is their stud, averaging 18.5 points per game, while Chris Wright and Jason Clark chip in 12 PPG apiece. Defensively, the Hoyas allow 66.1 points per game and are 24th in the country in defensive rebounding.

UConn is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, and 18-6 against the spread in their last 24 games overall. Georgetown is 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight Big East games.

Georgetown will need to keep an eye on Walker, who although, finishing with nine just points on 2-of-7 shooting for the Huskies in last season’s, is always a huge threat.

Back G’Town on the road for your free NCAA basketball betting pick tonight.
