NCAAF Betting Odds:

Fresno State: -1
Louisiana Tech: +1

Many casual betting fans got to know Louisiana Tech last Tuesday, when they lost at Boise State. And even though the final score might not have been pretty, they didn’t go down without a fight.

While the final was 49-20, the Bulldogs put up 394 yards of total offense, and kept things close early, before Boise State blew them out late. And quarterback Ross Jenkins also established himself as one of the most underrated signal-callers in college football.

Going against a very tough Boise secondary, Jenkins picked them apart, completing 24 of 39 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown. The senior seems to be getting better every week, and could be in for a big afternoon Saturday against Fresno.

Two weeks ago, Jenkins had the best game of his career, when he tossed for 422 yards and three scores in a 13 point win over Idaho.

But when it comes to the Free Football Picks, don’t forget about favored Fresno State. Like their opponents, they come into this one with a quarterback that you’re going to need to know, Ryan Colburn.

With Kellen Moore and Colin Kaepernick getting all the hype in the WAC, it is easy to forget about Colburn. But don’t, this guy can sling the rock around with any of them.

On the season, Colburn is completing 65 percent of his passes, and has tossed for 13 touchdowns, with just six interceptions. Maybe more importantly though is Fresno’s running game.

What was once a weakness has become a strength with Robbie Rouse picking up his play of late. After not rushing for more than 70 yards in any of his first four games, Rouse has exploded in the last two, going for back-to-back 100 yard games.

So with both offenses going well, what the Free Football Picks will ultimately come down to is the defense. And with that, Louisiana Tech should be your pick.

It sounds crazy to think that a team which just gave up 49 points a week ago should be your wager, but still, think about it. What could Fresno State possibly do Saturday that Boise State didn’t last Tuesday?

Speaking of which, with their game against the Broncos on Tuesday as opposed to Saturday, it allowed four extra days of preparation in this one. Louisiana Tech will come in focused and prepared.

And finally, there’s Fresno State. Yes they’re 5-2, but have been playing with fire all year, as their against the spread record would indicate. They’ve been winning games, but not by the margins they should. If they let Ross Jenkins keep Louisiana Tech in this game, the Bulldogs will take full advantage.

With the point spreads out, it’s time to get your Free Football Picks in. The wager to make Saturday is on Louisiana Tech!

Free Football Picks: Louisiana Tech +1
