Here are some of the trends as they impact our free betting tips on this game:

  • Seattle has lost six of its last eight games SU
  • Seattle has played six of its last nine road games OVER the total
  • Seattle has lost ten of its last 11 road games SU
  • Seattle has covered one of its last eleven road games
  • Chicago has played four of its last five games UNDER the total
  • Chicago has won six of its last seven games SU
  • Chicago has won four of its last five home games SU
  • Chicago has covered two of its last seven home games

Key stats for Seattle — The Seahawks have averaged a little over 25 minutes in possession time per game, which doesn’t make them a great candidate for our free betting tip. They have accumulated 59 first downs in four games. Seattle’s rushing offense has produced only 80 yards a game, something they hope to improve with the acquisition of Marshawn Lynch from Buffalo. They have been able to stop the opposition from running the ball; the Seahawks are yielding just 2.7 yards a carry and 73 yards a game on the ground.

Key stats for Chicago — The Bears have averaged five yards a play this season, the same as the Seahawks. The offensive line has given up 21 sacks so far, allowing four more last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Kicker Robbie Gould has made ten out of 11 field goal attempts. Jay Cutler, who is returning to the lineup this week, has completed 67% of his throws, and has been intercepted only three times. The Bears have allowed only two TD passes, and they’ve held the other team to just six yards per pass attempt.

Here are the head-to-head betting trends as they involve our free betting tips on this game:

  • Four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total
  • Chicago has covered five of the last seven meetings

Let’s get to our free betting tips for this game. The Bears beat Carolina last week 23-6, and we’d like to be able to tell you that they did it with a tremendous performance by Todd Collins in a backup role. But the reality is that Collins, filling in for Cutler, who had a concussion, threw four interceptions and was pulled from the game in favor of the unproven Caleb Hanie. Between them, Collins and Hanie were sacked four times. There are still protection issues, but they feel as if they are on their way to correcting them.

You can still point to a lot of positives on the part of Chicago, and that becomes one of the keys to our free betting tip. They’re getting something a little better out of Matt Forte, who will afford Cutler with a little more comfort if he can run the ball a bit. The bears do not roll out the rep carpet for the opposing quarterback, and Julius Peppers could throw more than a few scares into Matt Hasselbeck (4 TD’s, 6 INT’s). The Bears are horrific when it comes to converting on third downs (just 21%), but an overriding factor here is that Seattle simply lays down when it’s time to go on the road. Dropping ten of their last eleven as the traveler, both straight-up and against the number, is a clear indication that we can not trust them. Seattle has not scored yet in the first quarter, so they could be behind the eight-ball early. Our free betting tip is to go with the Bears, the 6.5-point favorite in the NFL betting odds.
