As one of two Monday Night games this week, Ravens vs. Texans will be kicking off approximately one hour after Giants vs. Minnesota. It will be a busy Monday night as both of these AFC teams are fighting for a spot in the playoffs – and the NFL betting window.

Baltimore is coming off a 13-10 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 13’s Sunday Night game. It was one of the hardest hitting games of the season, which had major divisional impact. Baltimore is in a must-win situation if they want to stay within one game of Pittsburgh in the AFC North.

The 5-7 Texans are still technically in the playoff hunt, but are in a crucial spot tonight. Dropping to 5-8 all but eliminates them in the tough AFC South. The Texans are .500 at home – with wins over Kansas City, Tennessee and Indianapolis.

Both of these teams are losers ATS – Baltimore enters with a 5-6-1 record against the spread, while Houston is 5-7.

The Texans will look to their offensive stars in this game to go up against Baltimore’s 12th ranked passing defense (208 yards) and 6th ranked rushing defense (97.8 yards). Andre Johnson should be able to get some yardage, but the Texans will need Arian Foster to make gains on the ground. Against the Baltimore Ravens defense, it might be wiser to start Andre Johnson on your fantasy team, than expect him to cover against Baltimore on the scoreboard.

The Texans are a top 10 offense, but sputter on D – they’ve got the last ranked passing defense in the year. Watch for Derrek Mason, Anquan Boldin and Ray Rice (out of the backfield) to churn up the Texans and constantly make gains. If their third down conversion stays high, this will be a long night for the Texans’ defense.

Baltimore has only put up 27 points over their last two games. This comes after a stretch where the averaged just over 4 TDs (in their previous 6 games, they averaged 28.7 points.).

These two teams haven’t played each other since 2008, when Baltimore dominated the Texans in Houston – by a score of 41-13 and +2.5-point underdogs.

Free Betting Tips Pick: Take the road favorite in this matchup. This is a much easier game than last week’s slug-fest against Pittsburgh and the Ravens have much more to lose in this game. They will come out fast, aggressive and physical. This will be a bounce-back week for the Ravens offense and they will take advantage of the weak Texans secondary.
