Free Betting Tips – Atlanta at Carolina in First vs. Worst
December 12, 2010
The free football betting tips crowd won’t see many bigger mismatches on paper than Atlanta at Carolina this week, but the Panthers have been playing better football as of late and still are capable of pulling some upsets.
The Falcons aren’t as big of a favorite as some expected going into this one but do they have what it takes to blow out the Panthers as many originally expected?

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
1 pm Sunday
Betting Line: Atlanta favored at -7.
The free betting tips favorite Falcons have proven to be a legitimate contender, so much so that they are now the betting favorite to come out of the NFC by winning the conference’s championship game.
The Falcons have beaten some top competition including Green Bay and Atlanta but those were close games at home.
Now they have to guard against a letdown yet again in facing the Panthers at home.
The Panthers jumped out to a surprising 14-0 lead against the Seahawks before choking it away on the road.
Carolina has some hope in running back Jonathan Stewart but the offensive line has to do a better job of protecting the QB.
It’s expected to be Jimmy Clausen again but the Notre Dame rookie is 0-6 as a starter and many wonder if he’s just warming the seat for Andrew Luck of Stanford, who could be the number one pick in the 2010 NFL Draft if Carolina has that spot.
Clausen was recently named the starter but few fans of the NFL odds underdog Panthers have any faith in him.
The Falcons on the other hand are set at QB with Matt Ryan, who got the best Clausen in college with BC.
The QB spot gives the Falcons a decided advantage in this game and it’s not the only reason why they’re expected to win.
The Falcons have seen some of the action move towards them in the NFL odds dept. so far this week and it could continue as we get closer to gametime.
Not only are the Falcons the better team by far at 10-2 to the one-win Panthers, but they also have done much better against the spread at 8-4 on the year compared with the Panthers’ 3-9 record.
Anyone who bets on the Panthers and Clausen at this point in the season is on shaky ground.
NFL odds pick: Atlanta (-7).
