Free Betting Tips – Take New York Giants Over Minnesota Vikings
December 11, 2010
It’s obviously impossible to offer free football betting tips on the tilt between the New York Giants playing the Minnesota Vikings until we know the status of Brett Favre, who injured his shoulder against the Bills last weekend. He’s going to start to keep his ironman record intact, especially since Leslie Frazier is enamored by him, but whether he finishes the game is a whole other story.

It’s especially difficult to grade this game when you consider who vaunted the pass rush of the New York Giants can be. This is the same front-four which has injured Jimmy Clausen, Tony Romo and countless others.
For the most part, free betting tips surrounding Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin have advised a strict stay-away policy. The Giants are just 2-3 ATS in their last 5 games and are 8-15 ATS in their last 23 games overall.
Their record against the Minnesota Vikings isn’t enticing at all either. They’re just 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last 5 games against them, and though New York is clearly in the playoff picture nobody is paying any attention to them because they just don’t seem like a great team. I mean, has anyone mentioned that New York could win the Super Bowl with the fifth best offense (25.7 points per game) recently? That chatter died a month ago.
And it shouldn’t have.
New York Giants (8-4) vs. Minnesota Vikings (5-7)
Sunday, December 12th — Metrodome — 1:00pm EST
NFL Game Line: NYG -3.0 (43.0)
Betting the Vikings in this game actually has less to do with Brett Favre and much more to do with Tavaris Jackson, who exploded in relief last weekend by throwing for 187 passing yards and 2 touchdowns in a 38-14 romp against Buffalo. Jackson plays with an admirable chip on his shoulder, but he also threw two interceptions in that game.
Eventually you’re going to have to trust either Brett Favre or Tavaris Jackson with your money, and because there’s such a stark difference between the two the Vikings are an impossible play, especially with a 2-5 ATS record over their past 7 games. Free betting tips have been all over the map when it comes to the Vikings because of their erratic play week in and week out, and their 1-4 ATS record when hosting the Giants offer no clarity on this squad.
What has murdered the value of the New York Giants is the injuries to their receiving corps. Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith are close to returning and while Eli Manning is a stomach punching suckfest on the road, the Giants are simply a much easier pill to swallow.
The Giants continue to roll through the season virtually unnoticed and that’s probably fine by them. They did the same thing in 2007 when they won the damn Super Bowl. If I could offer you any free betting tips in this game it’s that you shouldn’t be falling asleep on the Giants at this time of year so bet them unabashedly despite being on the road.
