Free Betting Tips – How To Play The Football Hell That Is Arizona-Carolina
December 19, 2010
Strangely the game that most people are asking me for free betting tips on is the hellish tilt between the woeful Arizona Cardinals and the downtrodden Carolina Panthers. I can see why. Both teams have been brutal against the spread this year, and with a tight line people see value since the winning team won’t have to win by much. So where should your money be going?
Let’s start with the Carolina Panthers. Winless in forever and 1-6 ATS over their last 7 games, they’ve been perhaps the most difficult team to trust this entire year. Jimmy Clausen was described as one of the most “NFL ready” quarterbacks in the draft, but free betting tips have strictly gone against him because he’s kept the time honored tradition of “interceptions galore” alive and well in Carolina.
Of course when you mention picks along with a game featuring Arizona and Carolina, everyone remembers that horrendous five-pick game Jake Delhomme had in the playoffs just two years ago. Let’s not forget that the two key contributors in that game (Delhomme and Cromartie) are not part of this matchup. Carolina is also 7-3 SU in their past 10 games when playing the Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals (4-9) vs. Carolina Panthers (1-12)
Sunday, December 19th — Bank of America Stadium — 1:00pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Carolina -2.5 (38.0)
Moving over to Arizona, there aren’t many positive things you can say about these guys. I’ve been pressing that Skelton is not a great solution at quarterback, and seemed largely unproductive in a start against the Broncos. If he can’t get his act together against a bad defense at home, he wont do much better in Carolina. Free betting tips should suggest that betting on a team starting a third string quarterback is a dumb idea.
What should help sway your decision is the 1-4 ATS record Arizona holds over their past 5 games. They’re also 1-6 SU in their seven most recent games against Carolina. I like what their defense can do in general, but for the most part they do not perform well against teams that have balance. Arizona has given up 235.9 yards passing and 143.3 yards rushing per game this year. Again, they don’t do much to invigorate the betting public.
Let’s also keep in mind that this line is moving away from Arizona very quickly. It opened at -2.0, and has hit the roof at about -3.0. People are leery of Carolina, but they can win this game outright. There’s a reason that Skelton couldn’t beat out Max Hall and Derek Anderson all year until injuries forced Wisenhunt’s hand, so take my free betting tips on this game and take Carolina in the UNDER in a game you probably don’t want to spend too much time over thinking.
