Free Betting Tips – How To Play Texans-Jets At Meadowlands
November 21, 2010
How about this for a free betting tip: Houston has problems. I know that’s stating the obvious, but things got eerily worse for the Texans when it was reported that Matt Schaub was suddenly admitted to the hospital for a swollen bursa sac in his knee. The injury is to his right leg, which is his non-pivot one, but that still doesn’t mean the Texans have nothing to be worried about.
They’re playing the New York Jets in Week 11 after all.

The Jets have had troubles of their own this year, trying to get an unusually spotty offense off the ground as Mark Sanchez continues to grow accustomed to the speed of the NFL game. He’s done a pretty good job, but he’s also surrounded by an incredible batch of talent. As a fifth overall pick, he’s supposed to be doing this well.
My free betting tips have been leaning away from the Houston Texans for about six or seven weeks because I felt that they had that auspicious “They are who we thought they were” mojo about them. A Week 1 upset of the Colts threw the stink of their trail, but a 2-5-1 ATS record over the past 8 games has dropped them back to ground zero.
Making matters worse is the free betting tip that revolves around Houston’s 0-4 SU and ATS history against the Jets. They’ve never played well against New York.
Houston Texans (4-5) vs. New York Jets (7-2)

The problems for the Texans are on both sides of the ball. Starting with the offense, Schaub has been erratic this season because Andre Johnson has a serious ankle injury that has slowed him down. He still has 52 receptions and 781 yards receiving this season, but has only reached the endzone 4 times.
If we’re ever going to see the New York Jets be relentless on offense the way they are on defense, it will be in this game. I’ve been preaching that the Texans defense is amongst the most suspect in the league in my free betting tips this year. After nine games this season, the Texans have the second-worst defense in terms of scoring (28.6) and passing yards allowed (308.3).
Another free betting tip I’ll give in this game is to not worry so much about betting trends. Flat out, the New York Jets are a much more complete and disciplined football team and they have an offense that can rip the Houston Texans to shreds.
In the trenches, they’ll be able to get to Matt Schaub, make him nervous about his knee and Andre Johnson still isn’t healthy enough to be the breakout impact player he’s supposed to be. Arian Foster may be able to make solid gains on the ground, but it won’t last with New York’s second ranked rush defense away from home (69.5 yards allowed per game).
I don’t like the Jets all that much because I haven’t seen them throttle a team in to the ground this season. Not in the way they’re supposed to, anyways. This game is much easier to give free betting tips on than you’d imagine, so side with the favorite and watch the money roll in.
