Free Betting Tips – Decimated Dolphins Take Travel to Oakland in Week 12
November 28, 2010
Two 5-5 teams do battle on Sunday, and any NFL Betting Tips between two closely matched teams is difficult to say the least. The Dolphins have been down this road before.
They have had their mid-season slumps but have emerged to finish the season strong. The Oakland Raiders were exposed last week and are prime for a big effort to erase what was a brutal effort in Week 11.

The Miami Dolphins were a sexy Free Betting Tips pick to pull an upset last week but delivered a 16-0 dud against the Chicago Bears. It is true that injuries have certainly put this team in a big hole, but perhaps a bigger reason for their latest slide is due to the ineffectiveness of three of their more dependable players.
The Miami Dolphins will turn to Tyler Thigpen once again this week to guide Miami’s 15th ranked passing game. Brandon Marshall is unlikely to play after sustaining a hamstring injury – he only has one touchdown in 10 games this season anyway! The offensive line is banged ups as well – Jake Long could play but will be less than 100% and third string center Rich Incognito could be thrust into action as well.
The cure for a bad passing game is a strong running game. Too bad Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are complete duds right now. The two combined for a whopping 12 yards last week – 12! How ‘bout some Wildcat Tony Sporano?
The Oakland Raiders were Free Betting Tips gold before they ran into the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. They had won three straight games before the 35-3 debacle. At 5-5, the Raiders are still very much in the AFC West race – the question is, did they take something from their annihilation last week or are they going to fold down the stretch?
The Raiders have been a running team – period! They have the 29th ranked passing offense but have the 2nd ranked running game in the NFL. Jason Campbell was disappointing last week but figures to get the start again this week with a healthy Bruce Gradkowski looming.
This game will be all about Darren McFadden and if he can shake the poor performance from last week. He came into the Pittsburgh game averaging 108 yards per game but only gained 14 last week. He is not facing the league’s #1 run defense this week – Miami has given up an average of 113 yards per game on the ground.
The Oakland defense had been excelling in the middle of the season and truth be told, they were not that bad last week. The 25th ranked run defense held the Pittsburgh running backs to just 86 yards on 28 carries. There is no word yet on the availability of Nnamdi Asomugah, but if he is available, the league’s 4th best pass defense becomes a whole lot better.
Free Betting Tips Outlook:
The Miami Dolphins are 4-1 SU in their last five road games, are 4-1 SU in their last five versus the Raiders and 4-1 SU in their last five trips to Oakland.
The Oakland Raiders are 4-2 SU in their last six games overall. They are just 8-15 SU in their last 23 games at home but in their last five, have a 4-1 SU record. Oakland is 1-4 SU and ATS at home versus Miami in the last five meetings.
The Oakland Raiders will return to their bread and butter this week and there is not a whole lot that the Dolphins will be able to do about it. If I had faith in the Miami offense, I would be inclined to favor the Dolphins. But with Tyler Thigpen at pivot, the Miami running game stuck in the mud and with Brandon Marshall likely sitting out, this game should be all Raiders.
