Free Betting Tips – Buffalo’s Struggles To Continue Against Detroit

November 13, 2010

If you’re looking for free betting tips on why to take the Buffalo Bills this weekend as they host the Detroit Lions, then look elsewhere. A decade of misery continues to haunt the fans in Orchard Park, with the only discernable difference being that the betting public has suddenly started to side with them. A 2-0-1 ATS record notwithstanding, I can’t see why people in Buffalo are expecting to win a game “just because”.

No franchise on the planet can sympathize with what Ralph Wilson and the Bills are enduring better than the Detroit Lions, who are two years removed from a winless, 0-16 SU season. It’s not like Detroit has done much better since as they’ve fallen to just 4-20 SU over their past 24 games.

The difference being that Detroit is the best cover team in football. Siding with the Detroit Lions has been perhaps the most dumbfounding free betting tip I’ve handed out all season. But they continue to cover against all sorts of teams and are a league best 7-1 ATS this season.

Detroit Lions (2-6) vs. Buffalo Bills (0-8)
Sunday, November 14th — Ralph Wilson Stadium — 1:00pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Buffalo -3.0 (43.5)

Buffalo has been so close to winning their last three games, all of which have resulted in point differentials of -3.0 points. People suddenly think that Buffalo can win games because of Sparky Fitzpatrick, but this guy is not a closer. They haven’t lost three games by a -3.0 point differential because they’re just failing to get over the hump. This team is bad.

Things shouldn’t just get easier because they’re playing the Detroit Lions, who are 0-5 SU on the road and 4-6-2 ATS when travelling. A free betting tip to keep in mind is simply that Buffalo is 1-6 SU in their past 7 home stands and just 1-4-2 ATS in their past 7 games at home. On top of that, they allow the most points in the league with 29.1 points surrendered on average.

It really shouldn’t matter that Matthew Stafford’s season has come to another, early end. The guy is the next Chad Pennington. He can make all the throws, but he’s getting wailed on in the pocket and can’t seem to take the punishment. Whether it’s Drew Stanton or Shaun Hill (who is getting the start, by the way), nobody should be listening to free betting tips that are going against Detroit.

Not only do I like the fact that the Lions are underdogs in this game, I love the idea that people are going to get caught under the Buffalo landslide. Just because they suddenly have the empathy of the NFL betting community, that doesn’t change the fact that THIS IS BUFFALO we’re talking about. They stink. They have for the past ten years. I can’t emphasize this point any more clearly.

Detroit isn’t a great team without Stafford or someone like him, but on both sides of the ball they’re pretty darn good. They’ve covered against some of the best and worst teams in football. It doesn’t matter who they play, and frankly they’ve been doing it all year. You want some free betting tips on this game? Stay the hell away from Buffalo.

You shouldn’t side with Buffalo because you think they deserve a break. They’re a bad football team! Nothing you read or hear in free betting tips changes the fact that they’re a team that simply loses football games.
