San Diego at St. Louis
Chargers -8
Over/Under 45

Analysis: The San Diego Chargers (2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS, 4-1 O/U) are the proverbial mystery wrapped inside an enigma. One week they’re looking like the team many thought would contend for the AFC Championship and the next they’re looking like an inept bunch of middle-schoolers.

Still, after getting toasted by the Oakland Raiders, I’ve got to believe the Bolts will bounce back in a big way against a St. Louis Cardinals (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS, 2-3 O/U) team that is coming off a pitiful performance In its 44-6 loss at Detroit in Week 5.

After their perplexing smackdown last week, I like the Chargers to ‘show up’ in a big way and get a much-need win by harassing rookie quarterback Max Hall into a rough day at the office.

The Bolts are 6-3 SU in its last nine road games and 6-0 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss while St. Louis has won just two of its last 16 home games.

NFL Week 6 Picks: San Diego -8 Points

New Orleans at Tampa Bay
Saints -4
Over/Under 43

Analysis: I know the New Orleans Saints are looking pretty attractive as a 4.5-point road favorite over the young Buccaneers, but pro football gamblers should know that the Saints typically struggle immensely whenever they play their rebuilding division rivals.

New Orleans has lost four of the last six meetings against the Buccaneers overall, while going just 3-13 ATS in its last 16 games versus NFC opponents and 0-4 ATS in their last four games as a road favorite.

I love young Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman and the team’s fine defense and I’m going to go out on a limb here and play the Buccaneers to pull off the home upset after winning two of their last three home matchups against New Orleans, including a narrow 20-17 win last December as a whopping 14-point home dog.

NFL Week 6 Picks: Tampa Bay +4.5 Points

Seattle at Chicago
Bears -6½
Over/Under 37½
Analysis: I’ve been fairly impressed with Pete Carroll’s Seattle Seahawks this season, but really like the Chicago Bears in this matchup with the way the team’s defense is playing – and the way veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has struggled for Seattle in the early going.

Hasselbeck has thrown just four TD passes while also tossing six picks to compile a pitiful 70.7 quarterback rating.

With the return of quarterback Jay Cutler this week, I say the Bears and their faithful get fired up en route to a convincing win and ATS cover in this NFL Week 6 Pick.

Seattle has compiled an awful 1-10 ATS mark in its last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record while Chicago has posted an impressive 5-2 ATS mark in its last seven games overall.

NFL Week 6 Picks: Bears -6.5 Points

Dallas at Minnesota
Vikings -1½
Over/Under 45

Analysis: Both of these teams will be absolutely desperate for a victory when they meet in Minnesota on Sunday, but only one team will walk away victorious and I believe it’s going to be the Minnesota Vikings (unless Brett Favre is limited).

The Cowboys have a pitiful offensive line and should get man-handled upfront by Minnesota’s stellar defensive line in this matchup.

Dallas is 0-5 ATS in their last five games against the Vikings when they play in Minnesota while also going just 1-6 ATS in its last seven games against the Vikings overall.

The Home team has gone 5-1 ATS in the last six matchups between these NFC ballclubs and I just can’t see the Vikings losing this do-or-die matchup.
