The Packers went 11-5 SU last season to finish in second place in the NFC North and enter the 2010 NFL regular season as one of the top Super Bowl title contenders while Philadelphia recorded an identical 11-5 SU mark in 2009 but now looks to rebuild in a big way after parting ways with McNabb and some of the team’s other veteran players the past couple of seasons.

Green Bay compiled the best ATS record in the NFL last season, covering the NFL football spread in the BetOnline Football Sportsbook 11 times en route to its impressive 11-4-1 ATS mark while also post a dead-even 8-8 mark against the NFL O/U football spread.

Here is a look at the key head-to-head trends surrounding tonight’s matchup.

  • Home team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
  • Packers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 meetings.
  • Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Philadelphia.
  • Under is 6- 1 in the last 7 meetings.
  • Under is 4- 1 in the last 5 meetings in Philadelphia.

Green Bay Packers 411

  • Packers are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
  • Packers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games on grass.
  • Packers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NFC.
  • Packers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games in September.
  • Packers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 road games.

Green Bay went 2-2 SU and 2-1-1 against the football spread in the preseason while averaging a league-best 31.2 points per game and absolutely exploding against the Colts in the preseason’s third week, winning 59-24. The Packers allowed 22.5 points per game defensively in the preseason.

Philadelphia Eagles 411

  • Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in September.

Philadelphia went 2-2 SU but just 1-3 against the NFL football game spread this preseason while averaging just 18.5 points per game and allowing 21.7 points per game defensively. Kolb failed to throw a single TD pass in the preseason

Analysis: I wrote all about this game for pro football gamblers everywhere approximately six weeks back, but nothing has changed since that time.

The Packers are clearly heads an shoulders above the Eagles and would likely beat them 10 times out of 10 right now no matter where they played.

The Packers are loaded on both sides of the ball while Philadelphia is rebuilding on both sides of the ball and certainly weren’t firing on all cylinders as they finished up the preseason.

Unless Philly was truly bluffing all preseason (they weren’t) the Birds are going down in this contest and they are going down fast and hard!

I know the key head-to-head trends suggest an Eagles cover against the football spread, but the Packers are now an elite team and one that is capable of winning on the road in any hostile environment.

Green Bay ’s blistering 20-8-1 ATS mark in its last 29 road contests says it all. Play Aaron Rodgers and company to win this contest going away and cover the pro football spread with room to spare.

Expert Pick: Green Bay Packers -3 Points
