Football Proposition Betting – 20-TEAM PARLAY

September 10, 2010

We have been talking all week about the 20-team parlay that can pay off at big bucks at BetOnline.

How big, you may ask? Well, if you’ve been reading, you don’t have to ask! You know that it is 4000-to-1.

Well, I don’t know about you, but I am going after that huge payout. So here goes, using the entirety of the college schedule, my twenty-team parlay for this weekend (home team in CAPS):

[Off topic: by the way, do you want to get a 60% bonus on your first deposit here at BetOnline? Find out more exciting details HERE.]

1) Georgia Tech -13.5 over KANSAS — You can’t lose 6-3 to North Dakota State and not be on the other end of one of my selections on this card. You simply can’t.

2) EAST CAROLINA -13 over Memphis – ECU’s eight-game covering streak in this series has to count for something.

3) SOUTH CAROLINA -3 over Georgia — I’m willing to lay a few points here with the more experienced quarterback (Garcia over Murray), as long as Georgia is going to be missing some of its offensive weapons.

4) ARMY -3 over Hawai’i — This is a noon start (Eastern time). Now, how many time zones did Hawai’i have to cross over to play the improved Cadets?

5) WISCONSIN -39 over San Jose State — The Spartans are not stout against the run; in fact, they allowed 8.3 yards a carry to Alabama in their opener.

6) Idaho +28 over NEBRASKA — Pro scouts regard Idaho’s Nathan Enderle as one of the best quarterback prospects in the country.

7) Florida State +6.5 over OKLAHOMA — The Seminoles won’t focus on the run; Christian Ponder can expose a potentially leaky Sooner secondary.

8) BOSTON COLLEGE -17.5 over Kent State — The Eagles have covered nine of their last 12 at home, and they are inspired by the presence of linebacker Mark Herzlich, who’s beating cancer.

9) Brigham Young +1 over AIR FORCE — Styles sometimes make games. Air Force has very rarely had success running its option against BYU, and the Cougars have covered five straight in the series.

10) TEXAS A&M -20 over Louisiana Tech — I am convinced that Mike Sherman sees blowouts as morale-builders in College Station, and the Aggies have the horses to make this a romp.

11) ALABAMA -12 over Penn State — Joe Paterno experiences culture shock as he goes from minor league exhibition to the main stage.

12) SMU -11.5 over Alabama-Birmingham — Sure, David Isabelle ran for 214 yards out of the quarterback spot for UAB last week, but I still don’t know if they can trade points with June Jones’ Mustangs.

13) Texas Tech -24.5 over NEW MEXICO — Off a 72-0 loss, if he Lobos don’t put up a better effort this week, Mike Locksley should be fired. He should be fired anyway.

14) Ole Miss -21 over TULANE — I’m going to figure that Houston Nutt can get his Rebels re-focused this week after that gut-wrenching loss to Jacksonville State.

15) Stanford -6 over UCLA — Bruins are still adjusting to running the new "Pistol" offense, and their injury problems continue. We much prefer the efficient sophomore passer Andrew Luck.

16) NEVADA -23.5 over Colorado State – I’m not all that confident laying this many, but Nevada has been able to cover spreads of all kinds at home (19-4 ATS as a favorite in Reno).

17) Virginia +20 over USC — You’re telling me USC allowed 588 yards to Hawai’i in the opener?

18) NORTH TEXAS -3 over Rice — The Mean Green gives a big revenge effort, having allowed 77 points the last time it encountered Rice (2008).

19) South Florida +16 over FLORIDA — You’ve got to beware of a Skip Holtz-coached team when catching points, especially as the Gators may not have it together yet on offense.

20) MIAMI (FL) +8.5 over Ohio State — Don’t count out my alma mater for a moment. There’s a lot of speed to deal with Terrelle Pryor, and Jacory Harris should be able to launch some big-plays in Mark Whipple’s creative game plan.
