Football Odds Pick – Philadelphia and Dallas in NFC East Showdown

The Eagles and Cowboys find themselves in the national TV spotlight yet again in a game that’s more important to the football odds favorite Eagles than the Cowboys this time around.

Andy Reid’s Eagles are gunning for home field in the playoffs in the first round and the Cowboys are trying to salvage pride.

But the Cowboys seem to be going all out in an effort to win that pride for new coach Jason Garrett, making them dangerous.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys

8:20 pm ET Sunday

Betting Line: Philadelphia favored at -3 ½.

The Eagles are of course led by Michael Vick and he’s a big reason why they’re the football odds favorites going into this one.

But Jon Kitna and the NFL odds underdog Cowboys have similar talent on offense at the skill positions other than the QB Kitna himself.

Marion Barber is expected to be out at running back for Dallas in this one and even though he hasn’t had the best season, it’s a loss to be sure.

Several key players including Bradie James, Keith Brooking and Sean Lee are all banged up for the Cowboys but they practiced this week and should be ready to go.

The Eagles have rested after their 34-24 win over the Texans on Thursday night of last week and the football odds favorites should be as healthy as they’ve been all year.

Losing rhythm is a concern but Vick and DeSean Jackson are the kind of explosive athletes that can make plays all over the field through improvisation and don’t necessarily have to be in a good rhythm to make things happen.

The Cowboys have given up lots of yards lately and Jon Kitna has also thrown for lots of yards.

Turnovers have been their saving grace on defense but the Eagles have done a good job taking care of the ball so far this season.

As long as Vick and co. continue to play smart they should win this one, which will likely be a shootout, and since Dallas is prone to giving up TD’s rather than field goals Philadelphia will likely win by 4-7 points as Vick makes a big play late or Kitna makes a big mistake.

Take the Eagles until they show some sign of slowing down.
