Football Betting – Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

November 8, 2010

This football betting matchup between pre-season NFC favorites features one of the strongest and one of the (shockingly) most disappointing teams in the 2010 season. The Green Bay Packers have gotten past some significant injuries to stay near the top of NFC rankings, while the Cowboys are winless at home and have been counted out by almost everybody.

Sunday, November 7 @ 8:20pm on NBC
SNF Odds: Dallas Cowboys (+7.5) at Green Bay Packers (-7.5)
Total: 45.5

Green Bay has done what they’re supposed to do against weak teams this year: win. They are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last 8 against teams with losing records. The Packers know when to put down the gas pedal and bring pressure on both sides of the ball. They are an aggressive squad – especially at Lambeau field.

These teams have met three times in the last three years – with Dallas winning in 2007 and 2008 SU & ATS. Last year, however, the Packers won by 10 points. In the 2010 season, Tony Romo is on the bench for the Cowboys and they seemingly have nothing left to play for.

Jon Kitna (3 TDS/4 INTs) will lead the Cowboys into one of the most intimidating fields in the league. Green Bay has only lost once at home (to the sneaky-good Dolphins in OT). This may be a high NFL point spread, but the Packers are poised to roll the down and out Cowboys.

This line originally opened much higher – with the Packers favored by as much as 9 points. No matter what happens in a season, there are a lot of players that love to bet the Cowboys, so as the line creeps more into the Packers’ favor, the value for bettors increases.

Dallas gives up over 200 yards in the air and 121 yards on the ground each game. While Green Bay’s rushing attack is limited due to injury this year, Aaron Rodgers and his talented receiving corps will effortlessly move the ball against the heavily penalized Cowboys secondary.

Dallas is -5 on the season for takeaways, while the Packers are +2. In a game in Green Bay, that is significant. The Packers will be aggressive, constantly pressuring Kitna and looking for loose balls.

Football Betting Free Pick: Take the Green Bay Packers in this game as they win by at least 10. Rodgers will look to strike early and not let up on the offensive attack. As soon as this Cowboys team gets down, they have almost no chance of battling back.
