Really though, showdown isn’t necessarily the proper word, as the Steelers come into this one atop the divisional standings, with the Bengals plunging to the bottom of the AFC with a 2-10 record.

Speaking of Pittsburgh, they enter this one off a strong statement win last Sunday night in Baltimore. The Steelers trailed 10-3 heading into the fourth quarter, before 10 fourth quarter points led them to victory.

This week, they shouldn’t have nearly as much trouble moving the ball against a Cincinnati defense that’s one of the worst in the league.

On the season, the Bengals are giving up an average of 347 yards and 26.8 points per game, and are coming off another embarrassing effort in a season full of them. Last Sunday, the Saints were able to do whatever they wanted against Cincinnati in a 34-30 win.

This is wonderful news if you’re a Steelers fan, or if you’re planning on taking Pittsburgh in this Sunday’s NFL Betting. Despite their struggles last weekend against a stout Ravens defense, this is still a solid offense that still has the ability to put up points behind quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and a solid running game.

Last Sunday, Roethlisberger had one of his best performances of the season, completing 22 passes for 253 yards, including that fourth quarter touchdown that ended up being the difference in the game. Meanwhile, running back Rashard Mendenhall continues his assault on opposing defenses. Last weekend, he broke the 1,000 yard mark for the season.

And if that isn’t enough, well, this Steelers defense remains one of football’s best. They enter this game ranked No. 2 in scoring defense, allowing a meager 15.9 points per game, and their 305 yards allowed per game ranks fifth as well.

Going up against a Cincinnati offense that is struggling to run the ball (26th in the league) and a quarterback in Carson Palmer whose been quite turnover prone this year (15 interceptions), it will be a bad day to be a Bengals fan.

In the end, the Steelers are simply too skilled on defense, and too smart on offense to let this one slip away. As for the Bengals, well, there’s a reason they’ve got a 2-10 record on the year. Right now they’re not doing much of anything right.

The Steelers will win this game and win it comfortably. That’s the only NFL Betting advice you need.

NFL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh -8 ½
