Football Betting Advice – Michigan vs. Bowling Green at the Big House

September 25, 2010

Denard Robinson is getting Heisman hype and Michigan is flying high, but many who dispense football betting advice think the Wolverines could be overrated.

While that prove to be true against the Falcons this weekend in Ann Arbor or can Michigan score a blowout and finally get a chance to play some young guys?

Michigan Wolverines (3-0) vs. Bowling Green Falcons (1-2)

12 pm ET Saturday, Michigan Stadium

College Football Game Betting Line: Michigan favored at -25 ½.

The Wolverines have one of the most dynamic offenses in college football, and of course it’s almost all due at this point in time, statistically speaking of course, to Denard Robinson.

He’s not just one of the fastest QB’s in the nation, he’s also one of the fastest players in the nation period as a track star from Florida who runs in the sub-4.4 range in the 40-yard dash.

Robinson excels in Rich Rodriguez’s system passing as well because he doesn’t have to make tough reads considering the threat his running provides. But college football betting advice for this one in Michigan’s favor is coming from people who don’t know as much about the weakness of UM’s defense.

UM has had linebacker problems for years thanks to underachieving upperclassmen Obi Ezeh and Jonas Mouton and their secondary has been ravaged by defections.

UM’s passing defense might be the worst in the Big Ten and the Falcons have a strong passing offense.

Matt Schilz, the starting QB, is out for the game, however, after recently suffering a shoulder injury.

UM’s pass rush hasn’t been great, but still, playing in front of 110,000+ fans won’t be easy for a MAC backup and that’s where Michigan has a big edge.

If Michigan can hold onto the ball and continue their offensive rampage, they should be able to beat Bowling Green soundly at home this weekend because of Schilz’s injury and the unknowns of a backup playing in a hostile environment.

Plus, UM has a young team and Rodriguez didn’t get a chance to play many backups against UMass last week so expect him to put the pedal to metal and dial up more deep balls and set up more chances for big plays in the running game in this college football game.

College football betting advice: Pick Michigan (-25 ½).
