Arkansas enters this one off a perfectly timed bye week. The last time they took the field the Razorbacks lost an epic game to Alabama.
In that one, Arkansas jumped out to an early lead and was up 20-7 in the middle of the third quarter, before the No. 1 team in the country made an epic charge back. Arkansas ended up losing 24-20, when their All-American quarterback Ryan Mallett threw two costly interceptions down the stretch.
But for all the bad Mallett did with those two throws, he’s done much more good over the last two years at Arkansas. The big quarterback is a god send for this team, and leads their high-powered attack.
On the season, Mallett has thrown for a staggering 1,438 yards in just four games, and is as big a reason as any, why Arkansas is ranked No. 2 in the country in passing, averaging 365 yards a game. His top receivers are Joe Adams (averaging a staggering 20 yards per catch) and Greg Childs, whose 22 catches lead this team.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M too has a high-powered offense, and many would say that the football betting advice here is to back the Aggies.
Like Arkansas, Texas A&M is coming off an emotional loss, theirs last Thursday at Oklahoma State. In that game, the Aggies jumped out to a 21-7 lead, before melting down the stretch and allowing 24 second half points.
But for all the talk about the defense, quarterback Jerrod Johnson is to blame as much as anyone. The big quarterback can be great at times (after all, he threw five touchdowns in the Oklahoma State game!), but can be erratic too. He threw four interceptions against the Cowboys, include a drive killer that led to the losing field goal. There’s no other way to put it, Johnson needs to be more careful with the ball.
In the end, we can break this one down a lot of different ways. But no matter how you cut it, Arkansas is going to win this game big. The free football betting advice is clear, take the Razorbacks.
If this game were last weekend, we might say to stick with the Aggies, but for Arkansas, they’ve had time to heal both mentally and physically from that brutal loss to Alabama.
With the week off, look for them to come out refocused and re-energized and lay waste to A&M early. Also, for all the talk of the Aggies being a Big XII title contender, there’s no evidence to back it up. Besides the loss to Oklahoma State, they almost lost to Florida Atlantic the week before.
The football betting advice is in, and there’s only one pick to make: The Arkansas Razorbacks giving six points.
Football Betting Advice: Arkansas -6
