Football Betting Odds:

San Francisco: -3

Carolina: +3

Total: 36

Carolina comes into this one with literally the worst offense in the league. The 10.4 points per game they score and 232 yards of total offense this unit produces each ranks 32nd in the National Football League.
If you’re looking for bright spots though, Carolina does return the man who was expected to be their quarterback all season.

That man is Matt Moore, who saw action for the first time in three weeks in mop-up duty against Chicago two Sunday’s ago. Moore has nowhere to go but up in this offense, as his 42 percent completion percentage is amongst the league’s worst, and his two touchdowns and six interceptions certainly leave Football Betting fans a bit nervous.

With stats like that, is it any surprise this is the worst offense in the league?

As for Carolina’s opponents Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers are coming off a joyous weekend last Sunday in the Bay Area. While a 17-9 win over Oakland usually isn’t a reason to pop bottles of champagne, that was exactly the case seven days ago, as San Francisco got their first victory of the season with the win.

The biggest difference between last week and the rest of the season, was that for the first time all year, quarterback Alex Smith was competent. Not great, but good enough to get the job done, as he threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

It was also the first game in 2010 that Smith didn’t throw an interception, as he already has nine on the season, which leads the NFL. If Smith can limit the turnovers, San Francisco really can win any game on their schedule.

But as nice as a two game winning streak sounds to 49ers fans right now, don’t expect it to happen. Take Carolina to pull the upset, and get their first win of the season in this weekend’s Football Betting action.

The truth is, that expecting for Smith to have two solid starts in a row is probably a bit unrealistic, especially against this Carolina defense.

Because as bad as the Panthers have been in a lot of areas this year, their pass defense is one of the best units in the league. On the season, they’re allowing just 182 yards per game through the air, which ranks them fifth in the NFL.

The star of the unit is safety Charles Godfrey, who leads this NFL with four interceptions. Hmm, the most interception prone quarterback in the league, against the guy who leads the NFL picks. Think this one could get ugly?

In the end, the Carolina Panthers are the wager to make here. This one might not be pretty, and this may be their only win of the year. But they will get the win Sunday.

Make Carolina your Football Betting pick!
