New Orleans Saints (+2.5) -110

Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) -110

Over/Under 48.5

Defending super bowl champion New Orleans (10-4) trails Atlanta (12-2) in the NFC South with two games remaining. Atlanta can secure the division and #1 seed throughout the playoffs with a win over their its rival. Football betting should be big on this Monday night marquee game, and the Falcon’s have been among the very best money makers this season, going 9-4-1 ATS and a perfect 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS at home.

The fast track in the Georgia Dome should see plenty of speed and big plays, as both quarterbacks Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are polished passers and accurate in their delivery. Brees leads the NFC in passing with 4,122 yards and is tied for the NFL lead with 31 touchdown passes. He’s also the NFL’s most accurate passer statistically completing over 68 percent of his passes. Matt Ryan has passed for over 3,300 yards and 25 touchdowns in a more balanced offensive attack. His top receiver Roddy White leads the NFL with 106 receptions and 1,284 receiving yards, and is a big football betting threat to score every time he touches the ball. Ryan completes 62 percent of his passes. Given time to throw, these two quarterbacks should deliver some big plays in the passing game and keep the chains moving; each quarterback has been sacked just 21 times.

New Orleans had the Falcons beat in the first match-up this season, but kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 29-yard field goal in overtime and Atlanta responded with the winning drive and kick to win 27-24 as a three-point football betting underdog. The Falcons balanced attack included 215 yards passing and 202 yards rushing with Michael Turner a workhorse gaining 114 yards on 30 carries. Drew Brees passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns in that contest and note the Saints did not have running back Reggie Bush for that game, but he’ll be ready to go this week. The Falcons are allowing 5.7 yards per play this season to rank #28 in the NFL.

NFL Insider Tip: The ‘over’ is 7-1-1 in Atlanta’s last nine games and the last six meetings between these two teams have produced at least 48 points.

The Falcons are 19-1 SU at home since Matt Ryan became the team’s quarterback. Atlanta pulled out a pair of home wins in the closing 20 seconds the past two games at the Georgia Dome over Baltimore and Green Bay and return home for the first time in a month. The Saints suffered a 30-24 setback at Baltimore last week, but New Orleans had scored at least 30 points in the previous six games. This football betting contest should be another shootout between division rivals.

My NFL Predictions: New Orleans Saints / Atlanta Falcons over (48.5) -110
