Football Betting – Bears Try To Stay Undefeated
October 3, 2010
Football betting fans know that the Bears are the lone undefeated team in the NFC, and it can be attributed to a total team effort. Last week the Bears beat the Packers 20-17 in a Monday night thriller, a game that seemed to have marked the return of Devin Hester. Hester had his first punt-return touchdown in three years, which automatically makes the Bears’ special team that much more impressive and dangerous. The Giants on the other hand, lost big last week, falling 29-10 to the Tennessee Titans. It was an all-around ugly performance for the Giants, as they couldn’t get any facet of their game going with any sort of consistency. It’s not going to get any easier for the Giants against the undefeated Bears.

Football Betting: What The Bears Have To Do To Win
As long as the Bears offense stays course, this will be a difficult team to beat. Jay Cutler seems to have really bought into the system new offensive coordinator Mike Martz has brought to the team. The best part about last week was, despite winning, Cutler and the offense wasn’t satisfied. It’s that sort of drive that will bring success to the Bears for the rest of the season. The biggest improvement on offense, however, must come from the running game. Matt Forte was successful in the passing game but virtually non-existent in the rush. Luckily they’re facing a Giants team on the decline, although their pass rush isn’t half bad. If Forte gets going and the rest of the offense doesn’t struggle, Chicago Bears should be easily victorious.
Football Betting: What The Giants Have To Do To Win
One of the biggest problems New York had in their loss last week was their horrid special teams. They couldn’t block anybody on a kickoff and couldn’t gain any yards when receiving. The Titans didn’t score on kickoffs, but they set themselves up for major points every time. The offensive line also struggled versus the Titans, resulting in a poor game in the air and on the ground. Manning’s interceptions were a result of too much pressure on him because of poor pass protection. It won’t get any easier against a strong and athletic front-seven for the Bears, led by a rejuvenated Julius Peppers. Without an improved offensive line and better special teams play, the New York Giants won’t have much of a chance at being victorious.
Football Betting: Outlook and Pick
The Bears are not undefeated because of luck; they’ve earned their 3-0 record. Similarly, the Giants have played poor football that totally justifies their 1-2 record. There’s no real reason to believe anything will change this Sunday night. The Bears are on a roll and show no signs of slowing down, especially against a team as weak as the Giants. This could be a blowout, and the New York media could start to get really vicious against the G-Men. How the Bears aren’t favored in this game is beyond me.
Football Betting Pick: Bears +5
