The Gators won the previous matchup in Athens, 104-91 in double overtime back on January 25. This fact, combined with the knowledge that these two archrivals have winning records, should provide equal amounts of men’s college basketball betting on both sides.
The Gators lead the SEC East Division standings with a 10-2 mark. Billy Donovan is poised to have his Gators return to the NCAA Tournament after a two season absence. The previous two times his Florida squads have qualified for the big dance in March, they won the whole thing.
One reason why there has been significant men’s college basketball betting for the Gators has been their ability to play well on the glass. Florida ranks 35th overall in the country in rebounding.
Chandler Parsons leads the Gators with 7.7 boards per game, which is third best in the SEC. Parsons is also averaging 10.8 points per game, one of four Florida players in double digits. Erving Walker led the club at 14.8 points per contest. Walker and Kenny Boynton each scored 24 points apiece in that January win over the Bulldogs.
Georgia is 7-5 in conference play. While they have given people taking part in men’s college basketball betting reasons to choose them in the past, the Bulldogs know this is a must game for them if they want to impress the NCAA Tournament selection committee. Georgia has an RPI of 37, so a victory in this game will enhance their resume.
The Bulldogs need a big outing from Trey Thompkins. He leads Georgia in scoring at 16 points per game and rebounds at 7.7 per contest, and he scored 20 points in the earlier matchup with Florida. But Thompkins will need to improve on his 7-for-19 shooting performance from the floor, which contributed to Mark Fox’s team losing that first contest at home.
In terms of which team you should take in this men’s college basketball online betting opportunity. This will be another tightly fought contest between two teams that will likely be playing in the NCAA Tournament. We give a slight edge to the Gators on their home court.
