November 1, 2010
In what has been one of the wilder, more topsy-turvy, NFL regular seasons in recent memory, not many surprises took place in Week 8 of the 2010 campaign, although some sobering realities did set on for several teams who were handed a real wakeup-call this past weekend.
With the season’s second half set to get under way in just a few days, this look back at every Week 8 contest except for Monday night’s matchup, should help devoted BetOnline pro football betting enthusiasts everywhere maximize opportunities to cash in with some potentially winning Football betting wagers in Week 9.

Dolphins 22 Bengals 14
The Dolphins have a helluva’ defense this year NFL gamblers but have outscored just five teams this season while ranking 24th in scoring heading into their Week 9 road date at Baltimore. The Bengals were one of several teams that were handed a cold, hard slap in the face this past weekend as they fell to 2-5 with the loss and likely had all of their postseason hopes thoroughly extinguished.
Jaguars 35 Cowboys 17
I told NFL gamblers that there is no way Dallas should have been favored over the Jaguars in this game and uh … I was right. The ‘Boys are a complete mess and will get handed another ‘beat-down’ in Week 9 at Green Bay while Jacksonville kept its division title hopes alive with the convincing win heading into their Week 9 bye.
Lions 37 Redskins 25
I picked the Redskins to win this contest and they really disappointed me, but at least they’ll have the week off to get their act together. NFL betting enthusiasts should really keep an eye on the revitalized Detroit Lions heading into their Week 9 home date against the Jets as they are ranked sixth in scoring (26.1 ppg) and have a nice trio of offensive players to build around in Matt Stafford, Jahvid Best and Calvin Johnson.

Chiefs 13 Bills 10
The Chiefs are for real pr football gamblers! K.C. is ranked fifth in points allowed this season, limiting its opponents to just 17.4 points per contest while putting up 23.3 per game offensively (11th). Expect their Week 9 divisional showdown at Oakland to be one of the top games of the week while the Bills get a really god shot to pick up their first win of the season at home against Chicago.
Rams 20 Panthers 10
I know the city of St. Louis looks like somebody dropped a bomb on it, but apparently, the residents of the city have a blossoming football team they can be proud of in the young Rams. St. Louis has been consistently shutting down its opponents, limiting them to just 17.6 points per contest (6th).
DYK Alert 1
Did You Know the St. Louis Rams have gone 3-0 ATS over the last three games while playing Under the set O/U total each time out?
Packers 9 Jets 0
I picked the Packers for the Super Bowl And it looks like they’re back on track in a big way after picking up this solid win. Expect another easy ‘W’ next week at home against Dallas while the Jets look to bounce back on the road against the surprising – and explosive – Lions.
49ers 24 Broncos 16
The Niners improved to 2-6 while dropping Denver to an identical SU record. Thankfully, both teams have respective Week 9 byes after their battle in London this past weekend.
DKY Alert 2
Did You Know the Denver Broncos have gone 0-4 ATS over the last four games?
Chargers 33 Titans 25
I knew it – and I told the BetOnline NFL sports betting community the inconsistent Chargers would show up this week and they did, right on cue. Still, I suspect they’re going to have a much tougher time beating Houston on the road next week, although that matchup already screams ‘Over’ to me. Tennessee has a bye in Week 9.
Patriots 28 Vikings 18
Ho-hum, anyway that didn’t see this outcome coming from a mile away, shame on you! Nevertheless, the Vikings will get back in the win column next week at home against mediocre Arizona while the Pats also get a solid victory by beating Cleveland on the road.
Buccaneers 38 Cardinals 35
Simply put, the Buccaneers may have the best young signal caller in the game today in the unflappable Josh Freeman. Tampa Bay should have a shot at upsetting Atlanta on the road in Week 9 while Arizona gets served up as fodder at Minnesota.
Saints 20 Steelers 10
The Saints played a whale of a game in this one and shut down the Steelers on the ground and in the air. Nevertheless, New Orleans will almost assuredly have their hands full at division rival Carolina next week while Pittsburgh could also have a tougher-than-expected matchup on its hands when they visit Cincinnati on Monday night.
