Fantasy Football Week 6 Must Starts – and Who Not To Start

Fantasy Football Preview Week 6
Are you looking to ‘kill the competition’ in your local or national fantasy football league?
Well, then you’ve come to the right place BetOnline NFL football fanatics, because I’ve got the lowdown on who’s hot and who’s not heading into this weekend’s slate of Week 6 matchups.
Of course, with so much going on across the league, it can be a bit confusing for fantasy football lovers on who to start and who to sit. However, that’s where I come in.
Who to Start
Quarterback
If you’ve got Carolina Panthers’ rookie quarterback Cam Newton on your team, then you’ve got to start the strong-armed impressive first-year signal-caller with the Panthers facing the mostly defenseless Atlanta Falcons.
First and foremost, Newton is ranked fourth in the league in passing in his very first season in the league. The clearly gifted leader as thrown at least one touchdown pass in every game this season and is coming off a two-touchdown passing performance against New Orleans the last time out.
One of the other main reasons to start Newton is the fact that the Falcons are absolutely abysmal on defense this season, particularly against the pass. Atlanta ranks 28th against the pass, allowing a whopping 294.2 yards per game and is 24th in scoring defense (26.0 ppg).
The Falcons have allowed at least 25 points in four of their five games this season and have been so inept against the pass that teams have almost abandoned any attempt to run the ball against the Falcons. If there’s one quarterback you want to start over all others in Week 6, it’s got to be Cam Newton.
Running Back
If there’s one running back that you want to start on your fantasy football team for Week 6, then it’s got to be Oakland Raiders’ blossoming back Darren McFadden. Not only are the Raiders ranked second in rushing coming into their Week 6 home date against Cleveland, but the Browns are ranked 25th in run defense, allowing a whopping 124.5 rushing yards per game.
McFadden has rushed for 519 yards on just 91 carries (5.7 ypg) in five games with three touchdowns while also adding 149 receiving yards and one more score. Throw in the fact that Oakland desperately wants to win its first home game since the passing of longtime owner Al Davis and it’s quite easy to envision a 150-yard, two-touchdown, day for McFadden against the still anemic Browns.
Wide Receiver
If you’re looking for a wide receiver to start in Week 6, look no further than at Cincinnati rookie wideout A.J. Green. The gifted rookie has accounted for 208 receiving yards and one touchdown over his last two games and will face a Indianapolis Colts pass defense that is ranked 19th against the pass (254.2 ypg) and 29th in points allowed (27.2 ppg).
Green is on pace to record 13 TD receptions and over 1,200 yards and has topped the 90-yard receiving plateau three times this season while catching three touchdown passes. I genuinely believe Green will be good for at least five catches and one score against the Colts, so start this rookie as fast as you can.
Who to Sit
BetOnline NFL fantasy football fanatics that are looking for a player to sit in Week 6 are in luck – because I’ve one player that all fantasy football fiends should put on your respective benches this coming weekend – and it’s Dallas Cowboys’ running back Felix Jones.
Dallas has kept Jones’ carries very limited with the fourth-year back not getting 20 carries in any game this season. Jones has topped the 100-yard plateau just once this season and has scored just one touchdown in four games as he gets set to face a New England Patriots defense that allows just 106.4 rushing yards per game (13th).
