Indian Wells, California – A jam-packed, tennis betting menu is on offer at BetUS Sportsbook today, highlighted by the women’s Indian Wells first round. So many eye-catching matchups to consider. So many choices to make. I am sure it might seem a tad overwhelming for some. In an effort to make sense of all the matches on offer, and perhaps give you a reference you can use on how to place your bets, here is a quick rundown of several complete with our verdicts and tennis free picks.

Tennis Betting Line :
Sorana Cirstea +4½ -115 +200 20 O -125 U -115
Kaia Kanepi -4½ -125 -300 20 O -125 U -115

First Set Line:
Sorana Cirstea +150 Kaia Kanepi -200

Match Time: 04:00 PM Eastern Time Wednesday March 10, 2010

Tennis Betting Verdict: The market favours Kaia Kanepi over Sorana Cirstea in this match and in some respects, I can understand why. Cirstea is seriously off form this season while Kanepi has found encouraging form. Having said that I would maintain Cirstea is the better player of the two and in my opinion the better bet. I like her to take this match, in three sets, making her my pick on the money line at +200. Recommending this play is a 2-2 lifetime H2H between these two players with the last match going the way of Cirstea in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.

Tennis Free Picks: Cirstea +200| +4 ½ -115| Over 20 -125

Tennis Betting Line:

Shuai Peng -3½ -115 -210 21 O -110 U -130
Ekaterina Makarova +3½ -125 +160 21 O -110 U -130

First Set Line: Shuai Peng -180 Ekaterina Makarova +140

Match Time: 04:00 PM Eastern Time Wednesday March 10, 2010

Tennis Betting Verdict: Bookmakers are tipping Shuai Peng as the favourite in this match and I can’t say I understand why. Peng is 1-3 on the season, clearly off form. Whereas Makarova, though still not in great form, has at least a few more match wins under her belt this season. She is 4-5 on the year. Yet she comes in as the bookies underdog at +160. She is priced within the market for an upset though which is enough to convince me she is the better play. Well, maybe the value play.

Tennis Free Picks: Makarova +160| Under 21 -130| +3 ½ -125

Tennis Betting Line :
Vania King -4½ -115 -350 20 O -125 U -115
Christina McHale +4½ -125 +225 20 O -125 U -115

First Set Line: Vania King -250 Christina McHale +185

Match Time: 05:30 PM Eastern Time Wednesday March 10, 2010

Tennis Betting Verdict: In this all-American affair, Vania King is the firm favourite at -350 and rightly so. She has the on paper edge over her younger compatriot, 17-year-old Christina McHale and the experience required to handle such a big occasion. I think tennis bettors should fall in line with the market on this match and bank on King to advance into the second round, relatively easily.

Tennis Free Picks: King -350| King -4 ½ -115| Under 20 -115

Tennis Betting Line :

Virginie Razzano -3½ -120 -200 21½ O +105 U -145
Kristina Barrois +3½ -120 +150 21½ O +105 U -145

First Set Line: Virginie Razzano -175 Kristina Barrois +135

Match Time: 05:30 PM Eastern Time Wednesday March 10, 2010

Tennis Betting Verdict: This is a clash between two veterans in the game. Razzano, 26, and Barrois, 28, have been around for some time. They aren’t big names in the game but familiar names nonetheless. In some respects, pitted so, it is a tossup which player will come through. Neither Razzano nor Barrois has had a great start on 2010. The market tips Razzano as the favourite, most likely because she has the ranking edge. While she appears to be the correct play Barrois offers more value on the win for bettors. The approach to this match should be strategic. Take Razzano for the win at -200 and take Barrois on the spread at +3 ½ -120. Or take Barrois for the win at +150 and hedge this play with Razzano on the spread at – 3 ½ -120. For my part, I like the underdog in this match, Barrois.

Tennis Free Picks: Barrois +150| Razzano – 3 ½ -120| Over 21 ½ +105
