Coming up with solid expert betting picks in this game is going to be quite tough. We know that the Bayou Bengals are going to be getting no respect in this one from the oddsmakers, just as they got no respect in their game against the Florida Gators last weekend.

However, we are encouraged by the way that LSU is playing right now. It did come up with a win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs to finally snap that horrid 10 game losing streak. The offense made a cameo appearance, putting 84 points on the board, a far cry from the 63.1 points per game that they are averaging right now.

The Bayou Bengals could go on a bit of a run here late in the season, as they are really one of these teams in the SEC West that are a lot more talented than they are letting on. There are a ton of youngsters on this team. In fact, the entire back court is full of freshmen that are inevitably going to end up bringing this team to another level one of these days… There’s just a question as to whether that day is going to be today when we make our expert betting picks.

Vanderbilt has had its share of slips along the way in the SEC, most notably in a 60-51 loss against the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday in the Music City. The ‘Dores really can’t afford to drop this one, as an NCAA Tournament resume that once looked like a sure thing might be tested with games at the Kentucky Wildcats and against the Florida Gators to end the regular season. All of that parlayed with a first round exit in the SEC Tournament would leave this team at 20-11, a mark that might not quite be good enough to go dancing.

Still, when you’re talking about the SEC West, the Commodores have struggled just a bit. An 81-77 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t make for great expert betting picks, nor did a loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks. In fact, Vandy is just 1-3-1 ATS thus far this season in spite of a 4-1 SU record against the West Division.

There will probably be more of the same on Saturday. The stingy Tigers should stick around and pick up the cover, but Vandy will likely prove victorious.
