Over the past few weekends, the underdogs have been winning straight up or at least covering the spread. The frustrating part about that for bettors doing football teaser picks is that when a favorite loses straight up, it kills a least one selection in a football teaser pick.

Kansas City Chiefs -7½

The Kansas City Chiefs are the most surprising team in the NFL this year as they’ve already matched their season win total of a year ago. The defense is hungry and the rushing attack leads the NFL.

Playing at the New Arrowhead Stadium is a daunting task for any team in the league. I have no doubt they will beat the Bills, and their league worst rushing defense, straight up this weekend.

However, the ½ point on the 7 makes me nervous especially after Buffalo’s performance against the Ravens last week. Tease the Chiefs to -1½

San Francisco 49ers -1½

If the NFL is looking to promote their brand of football to the English, who are used to their own brand of football, the 49ers and the Broncos aren’t the teams to do it. Troy Smith is making the start for the 49ers and while it’s his first start in three years, I like him to perform well.

The Broncos defense was on display last weekend in a 59-14 loss to the Raiders. This football teaser pick is just to feel more confident in my pick. I like two teams to go over the total of 41½ but I love these two teams to go over a teased total of 35½.

Green Bay Packers +6
Game Total 42½
New York Jets -6

I like the Jets coming off a bye week to beat the injury decimated Packers but I don’t think it will be a blowout. Green Bay is progressively healing and if the line were +7 rather than +6 I’d likely just but the Packers on the pointspread.

Unless some heavy action comes in on the Jets to move the line to +7, I’m teasing the Packers to +12 points.
