Edgerrin James Signs One Year Deal with the Seahawks
August 25, 2009
Edgerrin James has found a new home in the Pacific Northwest. The former Colt and Cardinal has signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks. James was very public with his unhappiness in Arizona and the Cardinals obliged his request to be traded or released as they let him walk at the end of last season with a year left on his contract.
This seems like a good move for Seattle as they have been lacking some depth at the RB position ever since Sean Alexander won the MVP and then disappeared off the face of the earth. Now the question in Seattle is who will be the odd man out. The rumors are that it will be T.J. Duckett, the journeyman RB becomes expendable as Edge could take over as the short yardage guy.
Lets just hope for Seattle’s sake that Edge finds that step he had with all those years in Indianapolis, but once running backs hit that slope there usually isn’t any coming back.
The odds on the Seahawks to win Super Bowl XLIV are +5000, not bad considering their recent aquisitions.
