Detroit at New York – Pistons Need to Steady the Ship

Pistons Need To Steady Selves As Postseason Approaches
The Detroit Pistons (37-40 SU, 33-44 ATS, 36-39-2 O/U) and New York Knicks (30-48 SU, 44-32-1 ATS, 36-41 O/U) will each be looking to pick up an SU and ATS victory for BetOnline NBA sports betting enthusiasts when they battle at Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:30 PM ET.
The Pistons defeated Charlotte 104-97 as a 2.5-point favorite on Sunday to snap a three-game SU losing streak in the BetOnline Sportsbook while the combined score played OVER the posted O/U total of 176 points.
Reserve guard Will Bynum scored a game-high 32 points for Detroit while veteran forward Tayshaun Prince added 14 points.
The Knicks fell to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, losing 110-103 while narrowly covering the spread as predicted in the BetOnline Locker Room as 7.5-point road underdogs.
Reserve forward Wilson Chandler scored a team-high 26 points in a losing effort as the teams played under the 217-point O/U total.
Here is a look at tonight’s key NBA betting trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Detroit’s last 8 games when playing New York
The total has gone OVER in 11 of Detroit’s last 16 games
Detroit is 12-6 SU in its last 18 games when playing New York

New York is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Detroit
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of New York’s last 6 games at home
New York is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games when playing at home against Detroit
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of New York’s last 8 games when playing Detroit
NBA Odds
Detroit Pistons -3½ -110
New York Knicks +3½ -110
Over 202 -110
Under 202 -110
Analysis: While the Knicks have won and covered the spread in two straight against the Pistons, I like Detroit to improve their already-solid 20-18 ATS road record by beating the Knicks outright while steadying themselves just a bit prior to the postseason.
While the Pistons may not be able to compete with the likes of Cleveland or Boston in the Eastern Conference, I like them to grab this outright road win and cover tonight.
I also like the Under to play out for the fourth time in the last five meetings in New York.
NBA Free Picks: Pistons -3½ Points/Under 202 Total Points
