Defense Wins Championships: Which games to bet the UNDER on
January 1, 2010
NFL Week 17 has a few games where no one has anything to gain by going all out and some of these games already are with teams that don’t put up a lot of points or allow a lot of points against.
So here are the games I would bet the under on this weekend:
Atlanta at Tampa Bay
Neither team has anything to gain from winning this game, however since they are division rivals both teams will want to win.
The Bucs however are auditioning for a new coach. They have their eyes set on Bill Cowher and the hallmark of a Bill Cowher team is a blitz heavy D and strong running game. So expect the Bucs to run the ball and blitz.
Atlanta Falcons -2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2

Cincinnati at New York Jets
This game will feature a matchup between NYJ’s CB Darrelle Revis and Cincinnati show boat Chad Ochocinco who already has a TD celebration planned.
The Bengals have already clinched their division and will consider resting some players for next week wild card game. This will be the best defensive game this week; both teams can stop the pass and don’t allow a lot points.
The Jets only allow 15.7 points per game meanwhile the Bengals only allow 16.9, which points at what could be a close match.
Cincinnati Bengals +10
New York Jets -10
