Daily NBA Betting Picks – New York Knicks Fighting For Respect Against Spurs
January 4, 2011
The New York Knicks have been an absolute darling in NBA betting picks because of Amar’e Stoudemire, and this is a bandwagon I have certainly stayed with through thick and thin. Though losses to Miami and Orlando firmly put them in their place, it’s not like the Knicks have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they’re playoff canon fodder yet.
They’ll get yet another shot at redemption in the eyes of the public by hosting the NBA’s best team.

It’s been an unbelievable year for the San Antonio Spurs. Not only are they boasting just four losses, they’ve survived the Tony Parker divorce drama (he was sex texting the wife of former teammate Brent Barry), Richard Jefferson is enjoying the production we largely expected out of last year and Manu Ginobli hasn’t been injured.
On top of that, and perhaps more astounding than anything, is that Tim Duncan has taken a backseat to the young guns on his team. For the best power-forward in league history, that is no easy task. DeJuan Blair has stepped in mightily to bolster the Spurs in NBA betting picks.
San Antonio Spurs (29-4) vs. New York Knicks (19-14)
Tuesday, January 4th — MSG — 7:30pm EST
NBA Betting Line: San Antonio -6.0 (208.0)
What will inevitably make this game much easier for the Spurs is that Danilo Gallinari is out with a sprained knee. The dynamic shooting tower has averaged 15.3 points per game and is in the midst of his best year since the team acquired Stoudemire.
That in itself should sway the public towards the San Antonio Spurs in this game. Amar’e can have the same type of affect on a game as he usually does, but without Gallinari, the middle will be a lonely place against one of the league’s best defenses. The Spurs allow just 96.7 points per game ranking 10th in the league and have made a habit out of shutting down mega offenses around the league.
That’s why San Antonio is a no-brainer in NBA betting picks despite playing on the road in the heated venue of Madison Square Garden.

Bonus Picks!
Chicago Bulls -10.0 over Toronto Raptors
The Chicago Bulls are worried about a thumb injury to Joakim Noah. The Toronto Raptors are worried about injuries to their entire starting lineup. Andre Bargnani, Jose Calderon, Jerryd Bayless, Reggie Evans and Amir Johnson are injured along with Sonny Weems and the useless Peja Stojakovic. The Raps are also just 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games though a win over Dallas was pretty wild. Take the Bulls in your NBA betting picks.
Portland Trail Blazers +3.0 over Dallas Mavericks
From Dirk to Caron, the Mavericks have seen their best ball dissipate to nothing. A front running team that was literally playing in fifth gear all season long, has finally been caught from behind by the dirty claws of wear and tear. At just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games at home, you can’t trust them. I actually like what I’m seeing out of this Brandon Roy-less Blazers team, which is why I’m trusting them on the road in my NBA betting picks.
