Daily NBA Betting Picks – Denver Nuggets Visit Struggling Kings

You can almost excuse the Denver Nuggets for losing to the Los Angeles Clippers last night in NBA betting picks, but if they cough up a defeat to the lowest team in the league there won’t be much left to say. The Nuggets will try to rebuild a snapped four-game winning streak when they visit the struggling Sacramento Kings tonight as -5.0 road favorites.

Carmelo Anthony has seemingly found his rhythm again, and drained 31-points against the Clippers last night, but the team as a whole shot a woeful 37.5 percent from the field in the 93-106 loss. At just 1-4 SU in their last 5 road games, Denver continues to be one of the more troubling NBA betting picks on the road.

Things get even worse when you try to ingest the idea of them going 2-3-1 ATS in their last 6 games against Sacramento. What might soothe that heartburn is that Denver wont heir last matchup – albeit at the Pepsi Center – by a score of 104-86 on New Year’s Day.

Tyreke Evans is having a sophomore slump of sorts with a team leading 16.9 points per game and DeMarcus Cousins has failed to find a semblance of consistency at the pro level. The Kings are just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games.

In their last 8 games at home they’re also a torrential 2-5-1 ATS, which should make them completely untouchable in this game. However, the aforementioned Cousins has started to find a late groove averaging 22.3 points and 9.8 boards in his last four games. Sacramento is just 2-2 SU and ATS in the midst of that scoring surge.

There are a couple strong rules I’ve placed on this season, and one of them is to very weary of the Denver Nuggets on the road. Sacramento is purely a momentum team, and as long as Cousins is playing well they have a chance to do some damage. It doesn’t feel right (at all) but with such slim action on the NBA betting picks board tonight, the only real intelligent play is to take the home dogs.
