Colorado is a Big Baseball Bet Fave Versus Milwaukee on Friday Night

The Colorado Rockies host the Milwaukee Brewers in the only night’s non-interleague game.  The Rockies are big baseball betting favorites in the MLB sportsbook.  Colorado sends pitcher Jason Hammel to the mound.  Hammel’s overall numbers aren’t that great, 4 and 3 with a 4.53 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP, but he’s been terrific in his last 4 games going 3 and 1 and allowing a total of only 3 runs and a total of 23 hits in 26.4 innings.

With Hammel doing so well on the mound, do the Milwaukee Brewers have any shot of upsetting the Rockies as underdogs in the baseball betting sportsbook?

There are some positive trends for both teams in this game.

• The Milwaukee Brewers are 4 and 1 in their last 5 games as an underdog.
• The Milwaukee Brewers are 4 and 1 in Manny Parra’s last 5 starts when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.
• The Colorado Rockies are 4 and 1 in their last 5 games versus a left-handed starter.
• The Colorado Rockies are 7 and 0 in Jason Hammel’s last 7 starts versus the National League Central.

The man the Brewers send to the mound to counter Hammel, Manny Parra, hasn’t had a great season going 1 and 4 with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP.  He was even worse in his  only start against the Rockies allowing 6 hits, 5 walks and 5 runs in only 2 2/3rd innings pitched.

But that game occurred last October and Parra is coming off of a decent outing where he pitched a strong 6 innings and allowed only 3 runs off of 5 hits.  More importantly for Parra is the fact that he’s got the powerful Milwaukee Brewers’ bats backing him up.

The Brew-Crew has been dynamite with the sticks lately piling up 20 runs off of 27 hits in their last 3 games.  They’re also the best offensive road team in the N.L. batting .268 with 44 home runs on the road this season.

All of the stats add up to a potential underdog victory by the Brewers on Friday night.  Even though Parra hasn’t been all that great, he’s coming off of a decent outing.  Yes, Parra’s outing pales in comparison to what Jason Hammel has done in his last 3 games, but Hammel is due for a letdown while Parra might be rising.

I’m gong to take a big swing, like the Milwaukee bats, on the Brew-Crew and Manny Parra in this game.  I’m going to bet on them to win in the baseball betting sportsbook.
