College Hoops Odds – Small School Power Poll through 1/11

There are a ton of newcomers to the Small School Power Poll this week, but there is a team that has shot from nowhere to top the charts.

Tulane is the king of the college hoops odds for the small schools.

1: Tulane Green Wave (6-0 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: NR) – Unfortunately for Tulane, it will probably drop out of this poll as quickly as it jumped to No. 1 after starting to take on the real competition in Conference USA.

2: Missouri State Bears (10-4-1 ATS, 13-3 SU) (LW: 9) – If the Bears continue to play like this, they are going to be in the dance this year whether they win the Missouri Valley Conference or not.

3: Drexel Dragons (9-3 ATS, 10-4 SU) (LW: NR) – Drexel really might still be a one hit wonder this year, having beaten the Louisville Cardinals, but for now, they’re still doing a great job beating the college hoops odds.

4: Temple Owls (10-4 ATS, 11-3 SU) (LW: 5) – The Owls are certainly flying high, as they very well could be one of the best mid majors in the entire country this year.

5: Oakland Golden Grizzlies (12-6-1 ATS, 11-8 SU) (LW: NR) – It would be great to see the Golden Grizzlies back in the dance this year, especially after they started the swoon for the Tennessee Volunteers earlier this year.

6: St. Mary’s Gaels (8-3 ATS, 14-2 SU) (LW: NR) – Does anyone realize that the Gaels are on the verge of the Top 25? This might be the year they finally unseat Gonzaga atop the WCC.

7: Dayton Flyers (8-3 ATS, 13-4 SU) (LW: 6) – Dayton knows that it just needs to stay on the horse in the A-10 this year to beat the college hoops odds and get into the tournament.

8: Tennessee State Tigers (8-3-1 ATS, 7-9 SU) (LW: – The Tigers saw their winning streak against the college hoops odds go down the drain last week.

9: UAB Blazers (9-4 ATS, 11-3 SU) (LW: 1) – UAB was smacked into place by the Dookies at Cameron Indoor last week.

10: San Diego State Aztecs (10-5 ATS, 17-0 SU) (LW: 10) – 34-0 anyone? Don’t put it past the Aztecs.

11: Portland Pilots (10-5-1 ATS, 12-4 SU) (LW: 4) – Remember what we said about St. Mary’s winning the WCC? That’s if Portland does beat it to it. The Pilots are flying high this year and are ready to rock in conference play.

12: Indiana State Sycamores (10-5 ATS, 9-7 SU) (LW: NR) – Someone wake up the echoes of Larry Bird! The Sycamores make the second Valley team in the Top 12 for small schools battling the college hoops odds.
