College Hoops Odds & Pick North Carolina @ Nevada
January 1, 2009
The North Carolina Tar Heels, (12-0 SU, 4-6 ATS, 6-4 O/U) enter tonight’s showdown against the Nevada Wolf Pack, (7-5 SU, 4-6 ATS, 2-8 O/U) off another dominating performance, laying a 97-75 smackdown on Rutgers on Sunday, though they failed to cover the spread for BetOnline NCAAB sports betting fanatics as a whopping 33-point home favorite in the BetOnline Sportsbook.
Senior forward Tyler Hansbrough scored a team-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while point guard Ty Lawson added 19 points in the win.
"Sometimes in practice, we make every shot," said head coach Roy Williams. "We’re going to have some nights where we shoot it better, and some nights where we’ll defend better and still do the job about getting them to turn it over and getting on the backboards like we did tonight."
The young Wolfpack who start two sophomores and two freshmen are coming off a solid 68-63 win over Idaho State on Saturday as Luke Babbitt scored a team-high 16 points and Malik Cook added 15 points.
"Our shot selection was poor," Wolf Pack coach Mark Fox said. "We were untrusting of each other in the first half, not selfish per se, but untrusting of each other. We were lucky that we won when we didn’t play well."
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NCAAB Free Pick.

The Wolf Pack are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
The Over is 5-1 in Tar Heels last 6 Wednesday games.

NCAAB Odds
North Carolina -19 -110
Nevada +19 -110
Analysis: While the North Carolina Tar Heels will win this contest despite being on the road, I like the Nevada Wolf Pack to cover the high spread as they have not been blown out in any of their losses this season.
While I don’t think they stand a realistic chance at winning outright, I like Nevada to cover.
NCAAB Free Picks: Nevada +19 Points
