With two games left in the First Four of the 2011 March Madness NCAA basketball tournament, the final bracket is almost set as we take a look at the college hoops odds for the University of Texas – San Antonio vs. Alabama State.
UT – San Antonio Roadrunner (19-13) vs. Alabama State Hornets (17-17)

University of Dayton Arena, Dayton, Ohio
College Hoops Odds: UT – San Antonio -3, Alabama State +3, Game Total: 129
This afternoon, two Number 16 seeds will do battle for a spot in the Eastern region bracket of the NCAA tournament. The victor of the Roadrunner and Hornets will face the ominous Ohio State on Friday.
The Roadrunner is favored to win this game by three points, with the game total at 129 points. I like the odds in this game, as UT – San Antonio has played at a consistent level all season. Although the Roadrunner did not finish conference play at the top of the Southland, the team won the conference tournament.
UT – San Antonio is led by three scorers, giving the team more options and reliability. The Roadrunner have overall played a better type of ball this season than Alabama State.
The Hornets finished the season at .500, and were surely quite elated to get a bid to the NCAA tournament at 17-17. It may very well be because Alabama State finished the season on a winning streak, taking 11 of their last 12 games. The Hornets were seeded fourth in the Southwestern Athletic conference tournament before winning it all.
Alabama State does not have any one standout player and will have trouble putting up the same numbers as UT – San Antonio.
College hoops betting fans realize that the Roadrunner is a good pick for the three-point spread, due to the team’s consistency all season. UT – San Antonio is my college hoops pick to win outright and advance to face Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
