College Hoops Betting – Buckeyes Look To Keep Pace With Blue Devils

January 12, 2011

A busy slate of college hoops betting games that will feature 13 teams ranked in the top 25 will continue on Wednesday night, with a couple of big matchups between ranked teams, including the no. 5 Pittsburgh Panthers at the no. 19 Georgetown Hoyas.

The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to take on Michigan after holding on the last two games to remain undefeated despite blowing big leads, while No. 12 Missouri will look to rebound at home against Nebraska.

Ohio State Buckeyes @ Michigan Wolverines

Wednesday, 6:30 PM ET

The second-ranked Buckeyes will look to keep pace with the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA rankings by extending their undefeated run to 17 games when they take on Michigan Wednesday night. Ohio State came close to having their run ended by Minnesota less than four days ago when they built an 18-point second half lead only to watch it dissipate in to a 67-64 victory.

That three-point win followed a five-point win over Iowa in which the Buckeyes rallied from 13 points down. Leading scorer Jared Sullinger and company will look to avoid that same fate when they take on a Wolverines’ team that forced No. 3 Kansas to overtime before ultimately falling at home over the weekend, and did manage to upset the Buckeyes a year ago.

Sullinger has averaged 17.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season, and will need to be at his best to keep Michigan from improving on its 10-2 home record.

College Hoops Betting Pick: Ohio State -10.5

Pittsburgh Panthers @ Georgetown Hoyas

Wednesday, 7:00 PM ET

The fifth-ranked Panthers have managed to bounce back from their first loss of the season in with a solid start to their Big East schedule, shooting 46.5-percent from the field in three wins to make it five consecutive victories overall.

Pittsburgh will look to continue its red-hot shooting against a Georgetown team that has struggled with a terrible start to its conference schedule, including losses to unranked St. John’s and West Virginia heading in to this contest.

College Hoops Betting Pick: Pittsburgh +2.5

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Missouri Tigers

Wednesday, 7:00 PM ET

The 12th-ranked Tigers will look to bounce back from their second loss of the season when they take on a Nebraska team that has won 13 of 15 games this season, including 12 straight. Missouri fell behind Colorado by 12 points at halftime in a 89-76 loss, but have never played well in Big 12 openers away from home with an 0-5 mark the last handful of times out.

They’ll rally in front of the home crowd Wednesday and look to bounce back, and given that they are 8-0 in conference play after losses since 2008, it is likely they will.

College Hoops Betting Pick: Missouri -5.5

St. Bonaventure Bonnies @ Temple Owls

Wednesday, 7:30 PM ET

After bouncing back from a loss to Villanova with consecutive wins, the Owls should have no problem extending their win streak to three games against a Bonnies’ team that has lingered around the .500 mark over the last month.

College Hoops Betting Pick: Temple -13.5
