No Illinois Huskies +7
Game Total 45½
Illinois Fighting Illini -7
The college football sports betting public is heavily on the Fighting Illini in Saturday’s game against the Northern Illinois Huskies, but I think a few people will be disappointed when this game is over. Northern Illinois had a poor defense last season and they returned less than five starters. According to our trends, that’s a poor sign especially against the Huskies who returned eight starters from last year’s squad. The Huskies could win this game straight up but take the points to be safe.
Utah Utes -22½
Game Total 54
New Mexico Lobos +22½
The Utah Utes come into this game as big favorites but not big enough. The Lobos have been crushed in their first two games and the college football sports betting trends indicate a play on the Utes should be an easy cover. In games where the favorite of 21.5 to 31 points scores 28-34 points a game is playing a team with a terrible offensive team scoring less than 16 points per game, the favorite covers 73% of the time.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +3
Game Total 54
Michigan State Spartans -3
Notre Dame let Denard Robinson run all over them last week and they are in for another tough game against a Michigan team. This time it will be Michigan State running past the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon. The college football sports betting power rankings have the Spartans as 4-4.5 point favorites so when the line is at three points, it gives bettors an extra point on a three without paying extra. The betting on this game is almost 50/50, but get on the right side and take the Spartans.
Alabama Crimson Tide -23½
Game Total 57½
Duke Blue Devils +23½
Alabama is the number one team in the nation despite missing Heisman Trophy winner, Mark Ingram; they are still beating teams on the ground and through the air. When you have a favorite of 21.5 to 31 points and a team that gains more than 6.25 yards per play in consecutive games for a team that has returned eight starters, the favorite covers an amazing 92% of the time.
