Big XII Power Poll

The 2009 college football betting season continues with its third week of play this week. Check out how BetOnlines tacks up this power conference after most teams have played two games in ’09…

1: Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-0 ATS, 2-0 SU) (LW: 5) The Black Shirts’ defense has only allowed 12 points in two games. The offense hasn’t exactly slacked either, as QB Zac Lee has led the Huskers to an average of 492.5 yards per game, the 19 th best mark in the nation. It’s all added up to a 2-0 ATS start for Nebraska against two hefty spreads, but life will get a lot tougher this week in Blacksburg.

Up Next: Away @ Virginia Tech

2: Baylor Bears (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) (LW: 2) The Bears took a well-deserved week off after they traveled to Wake Forest and earned a victory two weeks ago. The march towards bowl-eligibility continues this week when Baylor makes its ’09 debut in Waco.

Up Next: Home vs. Connecticut

3: Texas A&M Aggies (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) (LW: 3) Texas A&M was one of the more impressive teams in Week 1, but much like the Bears, they took a week off before they tackle two more weak non-conference opponents. HC Mike Sherman absolutely cannot afford a loss in either of these games if he hopes to stay on solid ground with the Aggies faithful.

Up Next: Home vs. Utah State

4: Kansas Jayhawks (0-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) (LW: 6) Over the L/2 seasons, the Jayhawks have made a name for themselves thanks to a stellar offense. This year, the defense has been the most impressive part of KU’s game. Kansas has only allowed a total of ten points in two games. Don’t rest on the offense either, though. The unit ranks sixth in the country in yards per game at 558.5 and 18 th in points per game at 41.5. Expect another big victory this week.

Up Next: Home vs. Duke

5: Texas Tech Red Raiders (1-0 ATS, 2-0 SU) (LW: 7) Maybe the guns will stay up in Lubbock this year without QB Graham Harrell and WR Michael Crabtree. They’re averaging 46.5 points per game this season, the eighth best mark in the country, but the most impressive stat comes from the passing attack, which ranks first in the country at 456.5 yards per game.

Up Next: Away @ Texas

6: Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-1 ATS, 1-1 SU) (LW: 1) If the Cowboys thought they were going to contend for a National Championship season, they were sorely mistaken. The Pokes had their hopes dashed with a 45-35 loss to Houston. The uphill battle is only going to get harder when Big XII play kicks off.

Up Next: Home vs. Rice

And the rest…

7: Missouri Tigers (1-1 ATS, 2-0 SU) (LW: 4)

8: Oklahoma Sooners (1-1 ATS, 1-1 SU) (LW: 12)

9: Iowa State Cyclones (0-1 ATS, 1-1 SU) (LW: 8)

10: Kansas State Wildcats (0-1 ATS, 1-1 SU) (LW: 10

11: Texas Longhorns (0-2 ATS, 2-0 SU) (LW: 9)

12: Colorado Buffaloes (0-1 ATS, 0-2 SU (LW: 11)
