College Football Prediction – James Madison at Virginia Tech
September 11, 2010
The Virginia Tech Hokies have had some rough matchups in early-season college football action and last Monday’s tilt with Boise State was certainly one of them; the college football prediction of Boise winning a close one eventually came through as the Hokies squandered a late lead.
Now, going into Saturday’s college football game between the two, the Hokies will have to be able to shake off disappointment to get a win against a team looking to come into their house to play the spoiler.

James Madison at Virginia Tech
Saturday, Sept. 11, 1:30 p.m.
Virginia Tech obviously has had no problems beating teams of James Madison’s caliber in the past few years, especially in the Frank Beamer years. Indeed, the Hokies have dominated the series as they are 6-0 all-time against their FCS opponents.
Virginia Tech Hokies has won the last two games against James Madison by a combined score of 90-0 as well so a blowout is definitely likely in this one. James Madison did show some skill the first week as the dominated Morehead State en route to an opening weekend victory by a score of 48-7.
Of course Virginia Tech, now ranked #13, down from #10 when they played the Boise State Broncos in their instant classic college football game on Monday, lost their first one by a score of 33-30 to the Broncos.
But the Broncos were favored in that one and Va. Tech showed a much-improved offense with the savvy Tyrod Taylor leading the way at QB.
Offense production on a consistent basis was the one reason Va. Tech has had a hard time covering the spread in the past, but now their offense is much more dynamic which should lead to an easy blowout win.
College Football Prediction: Virginia Tech wins 49-7
