College Football Picks: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders vs. Troy Trojans
October 6, 2009
Although it is odd to be see a college football game on a Tuesday night, we have one matchup for tonight as the 7 point favorite Troy State Trojans host the Middle Tennessee State Blues Raiders at 8:00 PM ET at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
This will be the second home game for the Trojans as they beat UAB 27-14 in week 3. They are 2-2 after losing against Bowling Green and Florida in the first two weeks and winning over UAB and Arkansas State in the last two.
In the victory 30-27 over Arkansas State QB Levi Brown threw for 355 yards and 2 TD without a pick performing one of his the best games of the season. The Trojans defense allowed just 13 first downs, with two third down conversions, and held the Red Wolves to 70 rush yards.
The Blues Raiders on the other hand has won the last 3 games putting at least 31 points on the board. Quarterback Dwight Dasher ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more on Saturday to lead Middle Tennessee State to a 37-21 victory over North Texas.
The Blue Raiders have outplayed their rivals with a +6 turnover differential in the last 3 games. But all college football betting fans must remember the Raiders are 0-8 straight up in their last eight meetings with the Trojans.
College Football Odds:
Middle Tennessee State Blues Raiders +7 -110
Troy State Trojans -7 -110
My pick: Bet the Trojans, but they won’t cover the spread.
