College Football Pick: Trojans invade Ohio State
September 12, 2009
All eyes are on Columbus this weekend as 7 points favorites USC (#3) visit Ohio State (#8) at 8 p.m ET.
If you’re going to bet on College football this weekend you should know the key for this matchup is Ohio State QB Terrell Pryor’s ability to move outside the pocket. He’s the most dynamic player in the Ohio State offense. In the past, several mobile quarterbacks like Vince Young and Dennis Dixon have been able to hurt the Trojans however this year’s USC defense is faster now and could end up putting Pryor in a position when he must throw a lot.
Turning to the Buckeyes, Ohio’s defense can’t let Joe McKnight run the football because if the Buckeyes are going to lose to the Trojans they are going to have to make QB Matt Barkley beat them with his arm.
The Trojans offensive line displayed excellent quickness and communication skills and was constantly opening holes in the running game in the last week game against San Jose State.
In my opinion this is a much bigger game for Ohio than to USC right now because they have lost 5 straight games to top ten teams and three straight BCS Bowl games. This could be the perfect game to tell the world that the Big Ten is not overrated.
