College Football Parlay Picks – Notre Dame, USC, LSU and more
September 5, 2009
It’s the first week of college football and although every gambler in the world has probably looked at every game on the schedule more than once, it might be a good idea to take a look at four interesting games that could provide some profits for bettors in the BetOnline sportsbook, especially if you parlay the action.
It’s always a good idea to pare a Saturday, or Sunday for that matter, down to just a few key wagers. It makes life much easier and allows gamblers to really hone their skills when attempting to pick winners.
Let’s take a look at this Saturday’s College football parlay picks.
NCAAF: Saturday Quick Picks
Nevada Wolf Pack vs. #23 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Kick-off: 3:30 pm EST
Analysis: The line is Nevada +14 ½, or Notre Dame -14 ½, either way bettors look at it, the talk out of Notre Dame is that this team is supposed to really be something in 2009. I agree. They could really be something but bettors shouldn’t think that Nevada is without any shot in this game. The Wolf Pack returns their quarterback and both wide receivers, like Notre Dame, and actually might have had a tougher schedule playing in the WAC last year than Notre Dame did. Both teams finished 7 and 6 in 2008. Granted, Notre Dame’s offensive line should be very good this year, but 14 ½ points is a lot.
Pick: Nevada Wolf Pack at +14 ½
San Jose State Spartans vs. #4 USC Trojans
Kick-off: 3:30 pm EST
Analysis: San Jose State is a 33 point underdog in this game. Hey, it’s USC. They have a lot of talent at running back, wide receiver and all of the talk that freshman Matt Barkley is going to fail under center is just that, talk. Bettors shouldn’t be wary of betting USC because of their offense. They should be wary of betting the Trojans because of that defense. The Trojans defense returns only 3 starters. That can’t be a good thing. I don’t care what people believe about the USC football factory. That, and the fact that San Jose State’s coach, Dick Tomey, is one of the best coaches in college football and has been for some time, leads me to believe that SJSU will beat that ridiculous spread. I’ll take the points in this game.
Pick: San Jose State Spartans at +33
#11 LSU Fighting Tigers vs. Washington Huskies
Kick-off: 10:30 pm EST
Analysis: The Fighting Tigers will be looking to start off 2009 the right way when they travel to Washington to take on the always rebuilding Huskies. Washington hasn’t been good for some time and figures to be awful again in 2009. New Head Coach Steve Sarkisian will install an offense based around the passing attack. That’s great, but it’s going to take a while for Sarkisian’s system to develop. What that means is that this could be the best bet of the day as LSU is only favored by 17 ½ points. LSU’s offense should be much better than it was in 2008. The Huskies’ defense won’t be any better in 2009. The Huskies’ D gave up over 38 points a game on average last year. I see LSU getting at least 42 and squashing Washington.
Pick: LSU Fighting Tigers at -17 ½
NCAAF: Monday September 7 th
September 7 th
Miami-Florida Hurricanes vs. #18 Florida State Seminoles
Game-day: 9/7/2009
Kick-off: 8:00 pm EST
Analysis: Miami-Florida and Florida State battle it out again on the traditional first Monday of the football season. This has always been a good rivalry that figures to be better in 2009 as Miami quarterback Jacory Harris has a year under his belt. Miami also returns one of the better rushers they’ve had in a while in Javarris James. Florida State has a new look offense but, as always, their defense should be stout. The key with this game is deciding on whether or not Miami-Florida will have enough offensively to challenge Florida State’s defense as the Seminoles offense doesn’t figure to put up a lot of points. Florida State has won 3 out of 4 against Miami. They might win again on Monday night, but they won’t win by much which is why Miami is the bet at +6 ½.
Pick: Miami-Florida at +6 ½
