The weekend sports betting odds get underway a bit early this weekend, as the No. 4 ranked TCU Horned Frogs head to Dallas on Friday to take on the revived SMU Mustangs.

Simply put, this TCU team is a juggernaut, as they went 12-1 last year, and have started this year 3-0. The he Horned Frogs are getting it done on both sides of the ball, ranking in the top 10 in the country in both points for (6th at 45 per game) and fewest points allowed (9th, giving up 12.7 a contest).

Truthfully, as good as June Jones has his SMU team playing, they’ll be no challenge for the Horned Frogs. Look for the TCU running game to blow up, with Ed Wesley (8.2 yards per carry, four touchdowns this season) leading the way. And of course Andy Dalton is playing like an early season Heisman contender, completing just under 75 percent of his passes so far.

Make the Horned Frogs your first Week 4 NCAAF betting pick of the weekend!

No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks

Saturday, September 25, 3:30 p.m. CBS

NCAAF Betting Odds:

Alabama (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS): -7 ½
Arkansas (3-0 SU, 1-2 ATS): +7 ½

The defending National Champion Crimson Tide will get their first big test of the season on Saturday, when they go to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take on the Razorbacks. Who should be your pick?

The biggest concern for the young Alabama defense has to be big Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett. The redshirt junior is a future NFL star in a college uniform, and has already thrown for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns.

But as crazy as this sounds, the Alabama offense will be the difference in this game. While the Tide might be known for their “D,” the guys on the other side of the ball are averaging 44 points a game. Wow!

Still, expect Mallett and the offense to do just enough to keep this close. Look for Alabama to win straight up, but Arkansas to cover the points.

NCAAF Free Pick: Arkansas +7 ½

No. 12 South Carolina Gamecocks at No. 17 Auburn Tigers

Saturday, September 25, 7:45 p.m. ESPN

NCAA Football Betting Odds:

South Carolina (3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS): +3
Auburn (3-0 SU, 1-2 ATS): -3

While all the talk in the SEC is on the Alabama-Arkansas game, the real story might come from Auburn. Will the South Carolina Gamecocks continue their march toward an SEC East title?

If so, they’ll need a big Saturday from their freshman running back Marcus Lattimore. The kid has been incredible so far, rushing for 333 yards and five touchdowns, including a 182-yard outburst against Georgia the other weekend. And he’ll be running against a defense that’s hardly been great, as Auburn allowed 140 yards rushing to Clemson’s Andre Ellington a week ago.

Still, don’t sleep on Auburn. They’ve got a high-powered offense featuring stud quarterback Cam Newton, a kid who does it all. The junior leads this team with 525 yards passing, as well as 309 yards rushing.

And in the end, the play to make is with Auburn. They get South Carolina at an optimal time, in their first road game, with a bye week to follow, and Alabama coming after that. We’re not saying they’re the better team, but Auburn will have the mental and emotional edge this weekend.

NCAAF Spread Pick: Auburn -3
