Miami: -8

For Miami, last Saturday’s trip to Virginia was devastating in more ways than one. That’s because, not only did the Hurricanes to lose to a previously winless in the ACC Virginia team, but also lost their starting quarterback. That’s right, superstar Jacory Harris was knocked out of the game in the first half with a concussion, and will not play this weekend.

Which only puts added pressure on true freshman Stephen Morris to replace him.

Not much is known about Morris, other than that in his limited time at quarterback last Saturday afternoon, the kid looked solid, but definitely inexperienced. In replacing Harris, Morris threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns, but was also picked off twice in 24 pass attempts.

With Morris under center, expect Miami to try and establish a running game that’s been good all year, but a bit lost in the shuffle with Harris in the game. The star in the backfield is Damien Berry, who has rushed for 690 yards on the season, and is averaging just under five yards per carry. Berry had rushed for at least 100 yards in four straight games coming into last Saturday, before he was held to just 41 by the Virginia defense.

As for Maryland, they enter this one as a College Football Game Lines underdog, but are more than capable of springing the upset in Coral Gables. The Terrapins are quietly at 3-1 in the ACC Atlantic, and a half a game out of first place.

While statistically Maryland doesn’t seem that productive at moving the ball (just 90th nationally in total yards), they do make the most of their opportunities, as the Terrapins are averaging 31 points per game, which ranks them 37th nationally. Quarterback Danny O’Brien has thrown 13 touchdowns and just three touchdowns on the season.

What’s maybe most terrifying for Hurricanes fans though is how well Maryland as playing of late. And truthfully, if those results are any indication, the Terrapins should be your wager in this weekend’s College Football Lines.

Maryland is coming off its most convincing win in several years last Saturday, when they hosted Wake Forest, and dominated the Demon Deacons 62-14. In that game, the Terrapins held Wake Forest to just 155 yards of total offense, while O’Brien went off for the best day of his life. The freshman completed just 13 passes, but four went for touchdowns in the romp.

And as O’Brien progresses every week, and Morris enters this lineup for Miami, the play here has to be Maryland.

They may not be the glamour program that Miami is, but right now they’re just a flat out better football team, with a much more confident quarterback.

Even on the road, the Terrapins will get the College Football Game Lines win.

College Football Betting Game Lines Pick: Maryland +8
