College Football Blowout Alert: Huskers vs Cajuns
September 26, 2009
The 28 point favorites, Nebraska Cornhuskers host the Lafayette Ragin Cajuns at 7 PM ET on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in a game where both teams are looking to bounce back after their first loss last week.
V irginia Tech’s defense kept Nebraska out of the end zone last week and limited them to field goals. Huskers’ kicker Alex Henery, had a career high five field goals in the 16-15 loss against Virginia Tech.
QB Zac Lee had a night to forget with 11 completions in 30 attempts (36.7%) with two interceptions and a poor 61.41 QB rating. This was Nebraska’s 10th straight loss to a Top 25 ranked team.
Louisiana-Lafayette were handed their first loss of the season last week too. LSU had a dominant defensive unit performance in the 31-3 victory over Lafayette that made the Rajin Cajuns look like a division-2 team.
Louisiana-Lafayette allows 158.3 yards per game on the ground and will have to find a way to slow down Huster RB Roy Helu; he averages 127.0 rushing yards per game.
In my opinion the Cornhuskers are a better team overall, so it won’t be a contest.
College Football odds:
Lafayette Ragin Cajuns +28 -110
Nebraska Cornhuskers -28 -110
O/U 53 -110
My pick: the Cornhuskers will cover the spread. Under.
